The answer to your question is "Yes" Jones & Taylor met first in 1967 while the Stones were recording TSMR L.P. Taylor was actually there to meet with Ian Stewart
about a guitar. The meeting was short and quick. I hope that helps..

Yes, thank you for providing this information. I wasn't aware of this meeting. Much appreciated!

Did Brian play in HTW ? the single, not the country version...

I have often wondered about this. He's not on the single, obviously, but I would be intrigued to know whether he featured on an earlier rendition.

HTW- Earlier recordings of the track feature Brian Jones on guitar, but it was later re-recorded with the guest musician Mick Taylor.

Taylor overdubbed on to an already recorded version which may or may not have had Brian on it before.

most rock and roll shows were done in theaters and arenas up until the late 60s.
the stones probably couldnt have played a show as big as the beatles shea stadium gig until a couple of years later.

they replied by playing to several 100 thousand people in london and san francisco a few years later[hence micks- "lets see the fcking moptops do that"as he walked offstage at hyde park] but that was well after brian was gone.

In the 60's they were working on a track called "English Summer". Does anyone know what became of it? Was it a working title etc?

According to Wyman's diary they didn't start working on the rock version of HTW until Brian was fired.

Taylor himself doesn't seem so sure either.

Taylor has a tendency much like Richards to alter and embellish his memories as years pass by. Taylor has stated various times he never met Jones, not when he bought the Les Paul in 1967 and not later on in the studio. He has said several times that Jagger was the only one he had met once or twice before his first studio session with the Stones.

That makes no sense given other information available. From his book, but maybe the diary part went wrong somewhere. Some info presented in a way to imply it came from him actually came from articles for nme etc.

What did the Stones do to get 'banned in Boston?' I believe Jim Morrison might've done something lewd onstage to achieve the same but don't recall. smoking smiley

No disrespect Video but who are you to have spoken with M.Taylor many times, and also if you know him well as it seem's, do you also have the ear of any other Rolling Stone on a regular basis even to this day? If so, Man do I have a ton of questions for you!
