If you can tell me the true relevance of an edited picture of the pope with the nazi symbol on a site that is dedicated to the Stones then I would be happy. This is NOT, I repeat NOT a forum for discussing politics. Sorry. How many times do I have to reperat myself? What is your point? I mean Stones relevance? Do you weant me to continue spending time editing posts from you about nazi symbols and pope politics? I have 20 new rumoured venues for Stones shows rumoured for the 2005-2006 tour to be worked on right now, but people like you, who think this is a political arena, waste my time as I have to write up stuff like this. Is that hard to undestand?

Its an Anti-Nazi symbol .... and as the pope/papacy have issued more statements condemning rock music than they have condemning "authoritarian" goverments I think it's relevant ... ... as most of your diatribe concerns YOUR mistake in thinking a Anti-Nazi graphic is a nazi symbol I think you should stop concentrating on rumours and get an education.

Considering The Knitter's pic featured an anti-Nazi symbol I can't see the problem. The Stones world does frequently embrace, or at least intersect with, the larger worlds of politics & religion. The Stones in their heyday often condemned fascism and sometimes organised religion. The Archbishop of Canterbury in the 60's once described Mick's gilfriend of the time (MF) as immoral, (if not evil). The Stones' values were commonly seen as anti-authoritarian and the Pope is clearly one of the most visible faces of authority in the world. For the last Pope's stance on women, homosexuals & contraception alone, I would have thought criticism would have been at least permissible here, if not encouraged. If Brian, Keith & Marianne can argue against such figureheads in the name of freedom, why can't we do the same on a Stones site?
