Oh man, don't mind saying that video made me tear up. I'm happy he's doing Help live for the first time since The Beatles. The fans must of been so happy.

Yeah, with Macca (or the Stones) your expectations keep getting blown out the door but this was quite something !

Here's the same under a different angle : [youtu.be]

You should go, Dan! You won't regret it.
I'm recovering today.

I went. Got a lower level ticket for $60. Me and a married women "ran off together" but nothing going on between us except a strong overriding desire to see Paul regardless of what our partners think.

Paul McCartney played last night at The Pinnacle in Nashville. The venue holds 4500 people, so no pyrotechnics for Live and Let Die. Obviously it was a fantastic show with lots of highs. Although not one of my favorite Beatles songs, Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite was stunning, coupled with the visuals. McCartney can still play guitar. On Let Me Roll It, he can still deliver those licks. I’m not a musician, but I definitely was not impressed with the keyboardist. On Baby You Can Drive My Car, he totally killed the vibe for me. The piano in that song is one of my favorite parts. I can’t remember the other song, but he also dropped the ball on another one too. I don’t know if it was him meaning to play that way or what but he definitely was the weak link. Paul’s voice is not what it was 11 years ago when I last saw him, but that’s to be expected. Although not a perfect show, I had a great time and recommend going.

Andrew Watt first sat with Mick Jagger and discussed record production in June of 2022, right around the Hyde Park concert. This coincided with Ronnie's dinner with Paul McCartney in which Paul gave an enthusiastic report on his recent recordings with Watt. Watt, of course, then got the "Hackney Diamonds" gig.

This time line would seemingly put Paul and Watt together working in the Spring of 2022. That would be three and a half years ago. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but have we not yet heard anything from those sessions?

This December will mark the five-year anniversary of "McCartney III", his last full-length album. I personally feel that for the last two decades, Paul has exercised admirable quality control over his new music. The albums have all been consistently very good and nothing has felt like product released only to fill a schedule. Yes, he has devoted quite a bit of time recently curating the Wings legacy, with books, films and compilation albums, right up to this month. Not to mention maintaining a robust touring schedule.

But am I alone in feeling a bit puzzled not to have heard anything of the McCartney/Watt collaboration, one that produced such a glowing job recommendation (and a guest shot on "HD" for Paul!)?

- Cheers to All

Paul has been hinting at a new album for at least a year now. Hope he's not fine tuning it to death. This could be counter productive. Fingers crossed.

In the foreword of the new book about Wings dated March 2025 he says he's finishing 25 songs and that they're interesting !

In the latest tour program, presumably more recent, he says he's "finishing up" but that Watt keeps wanting to work on new tracks (...maybe because he's not happy with what they've got but doesn't want to tall Macca ?) and that there are "two new ones".

So it's anyone's guess when it's coming out, hopefully in 2026 !

I would agree accept for Egypt Station. That is a big dud. Too much noticiable autotunning, and just weak material.

Thinking of Egypt Station I seriously wish he would drop Come On To Me in his set. It's taking up valuable space. Never liked that song. Wonder he feels obligated to throw in something new.

Surprising and ironic that given the Stones recent past, they may end up releasing not one but two new albums before McCartney’s collaboration with Watt drops!

And Beat Goes On …

Here in Buffalo for the show tonight. First time seeing Paul since MetLife 2022, Springsteen guest appearance on Glory Days and I Wanna Be Your Man. Last Stones show here in Buffalo 2015 Zip Code, great fun crowd. Will have a good time out around town before the show tonight. Bills game Sunday too

Hey Nashville, I actually did read your post and enjoyed it! I’m looking forward to Mr. Kite which I didn’t get in the set in 2022. I was on the fence for so long about coming and just thought why not bc I’m planning to be tied up with our boys in Europe next year. Probably will be my last shot to see Paul but also thought that about the Stones years ago haha

I finally managed to get into this show and I concur. I was not as aware of the keyboardist (though there was one song where he definitely sucked), but maybe because I was on the opposite side of the stage? Really good show overall, anyway. The part where he sings "with" John always gets me.

The "keyboardist that sucks" has been Macca's musical director since 1989. I'm pretty sure that if he actually "sucked" Macca wouldn't have kept him around, some people...Another case of "Chuck Leavell sucks" I suppose.

Were you there? His part in Drive My Car was weak to the degree it is almost indisputable. Your post reeks of snobbery.

The man is Paul "Wix" Wickens

As previously said he is part of Paul core band since 1989, the only one remaining since that tour.

Some people like him, some people don't.

As we said in my country, opinions are like @#$%&, everybody is entitled to have one.

Interesting, this thread is the first time I’ve heard anyone badmouth Wix. He’s always spot on every time I’ve heard him play with Paul.

Maybe his monitor wasn’t working well. Maybe something else was wrong. I don’t doubt he’s top-notch. The sound was off. That’s all I’m saying. I’m not the only one saying that about keyboards at the Nashville show. Shit happens.

I had a resale ticket that turned not not to be valid, like many people, but the venue gave us the option to buy face value tickets instead. Another reason to love the Pinnacle!

Alright, finally at my hotel in Orchard Park for the Bills game tomorrow after spending the day at Niagara Falls. Really had a fun time last night. Met a great guy from Germany who was at his 90th McCartney show. Convinced him to come out and see our band next spring haha. Show was great, so many great songs. Particularly liked hearing Help and Love Me Do. Voice held up last night. I did notice the keyboardist to the above posts but can’t remember what song it sounded off. Also agree with you Nashville on the visuals during Mr. Kite. Not my fav Beatles song but really cool
