In London in December we got the big bonus of Ronnie playing with them. I’m sure the crowd went similarly mad in Dodger.

Considering Ringo is Ringo, and not to downplay Ronnie's appearance which I'm sure was great, but I would guess the crowd reaction to Ringo w/Paul was 100 times greater than that of Ronnie w/Paul.

I see Joe Walsh also came on stage to play guitar during the encore.

We did indeed. I was there to see it with our very own Wild Sliwowitz. When Ronnie left his seat to join Paul, he’d been sitting with Roger Daltrey, but Roger wasn’t on stage. They played ‘Get Back’. I got some great photos of it from near the back of the O2’s small floor.

A great live music moment to treasure forever. Here it is:

Paul McCartney Welcomes Ringo Starr & Joe Walsh At Dodger Stadium In Los Angeles

Jul 14, 201912:44 pm PDTNate Todd

Macca

Paul McCartney swung through Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on Saturday night where he welcomed Ringo Starr for “Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)” and “Helter Skelter.” McCartney also brought out Joe Walsh for a live rendition of The Beatles’ “The End,” which saw Joe and Paul trade licks with the rest of the band.

Last night’s concert was the finale of Paul’s Freshen Up tour. Both guest appearances took place in the six-song encore that followed a 32-tune main set. Ringo last played Dodger Stadium with Paul McCartney on August 28, 1966 during The Beatles‘ final tour. Fittingly, “The End” closed out Saturday’s show and the tour with help from Joe Walsh. Joe is not only a guitarist in the Eagles, he’s also Starr’s brother-in-law.

Check out fan-shot video of both sit-ins below below:

Very cool that they did this at Dodger Stadium, site of the next-to-last Beatles concert on August 28, 1966. Candlestick Park, where they played the following night, no longer exists.

I was there at Dodger Stadium last night and Ringo got a huge applause when he came on stage.
Earlier in the evening I was wondering if he might show up. It was a treat to get Joe Walsh for the dueling guitars in the Abbey Road medley too.
I think a splendid time was had by all.

Paul's show at Candlestick in August 2014 was the last event ever held at the stadium.

And he does about 13 songs at the soundcheck in the afternoon, in front of an audience.

I know the average Stones song is considerably longer than the average McCartney song, but just imagine if we could wring an extra 5-6 songs out of the Stones every night.

Well yeah, but Charlie would look his age either way. Facially, Ringo just doesn't look 79.

I don't see why not...I saw some rumblings of a "farewell" tour, but it seems far-fetched. He's having fun and is still healthy...no reason for him to stop.

I found this ridiculous article from 2009!! Insiders claiming that McCartney was almost 70 and his body couldn't handle the rigors of the road...

[exclaim.ca]

Just shows you how much tabloid garbage is out there.

I don't get it why I can not seem to find the "London Town" album that doesn't cost way too much. Why would a McCartney album be out of print?

Ringo has had work on it.
Not that there's anything wrong with that... he looks phenomenal.

A lot of them suck. I'm surprised more aren't, but on the contrary he does friggen box sets honoring them!

Having said that, I am surprised something like London Town is outrageously priced. Doesn't look like so on Discogs:

Record goes from $1: [www.discogs.com]

CD goes from $20: [www.discogs.com]

Paul To Write First Musical

"Paul is writing his first musical – an adaptation of one of the world’s most loved films

'It’s A Wonderful Life'

Music & Lyrics by Paul McCartney
Book and Lyrics by Lee Hall
Produced by Bill Kenwright

Today, Paul confirms a career first. He is working on a musical stage adaptation of one of the most iconic films in cinema history - Frank Capra’s 'It’s A Wonderful Life'. Based on Philip Van Doren Stern’s 'The Greatest Gift' the legendary movie was directed and produced by Frank Capra and released in 1946."

Four dates in France announced, all stadium venues. May/ June 2020.
Presumably part of a European treck.

Secondary ticket site for a tour not yet announced. Hope McCartney or someone connected with him gets this shut down.

French dates are in :

Lille May 23rd
Paris May 26th
Bordeaux on May 31st
Lyon on June 7th

All stadiums, that's a lot of tickets to sell, something he struggled to do for two shows in 2015...might actually give it a miss this time unless theres's something "special" or if not if some good deals are to be had on the day.

Holy craptola!

"Queen" is also playing in Paris on the 26th! I wonder how HIS show is going to sell now that all the Queen/classic rock fans already have plans to go see Queen!

Queen is playing Bercy (20000), so that leaves either the Arena U (40000), Stade de France (80000) or the smaller Zenith (which I saw the Who at more recently), wonder what it's gonna be...
