I think I would rather see a Jagger-induced mid 70's re-release. Something cebtering on GHS/IORR/B&B. Because like Jagger said: Exile overlaps with SF.

Over Sticky Fingers???? No way.

That's a great cover

Canada is famous for maple syrup. That and the new Ebola treatment that we're sending to WHO for further testing. Supposed to be in the field by January.

We're taking after you here, with our Birch syrup, but it tastes nowhere near as good as yours...

I'm really hoping this is true. My favorite Stones album and IMO is desperately in need of a remaster and deluxe edition.

I agree about the deluxe part RollingFreak and that it's a plain, flat out fkn masterpiece but I don't hear a reason to remaster it really. These days they'll probably just compress it a little more and double the bandwidth of it which all they're really doing ultimately is making it louder in my opinion. It was very well mixed to begin with by Miller I think - exceptionally so in fact - and the mastering was just fine at the time also. Bottom/mids and top end were all appropriately placed I think. All instrumentation for each song has space of it's own. I just hope that the outtake disc (if they do one) doesn't have gumpf ala Keith mumbling to something like he does on "Soul survivor" on the Exile one.

I think the Virgin remaster by Ludwig is still supreme regarding any remasters for CD. Andy Johns mixed most of this record.

If it's a remaster you're after you cant go wrong with the 2011 Japan flat transfer - available on SHM-SACD and SHM-CD.
I've never heard the album sound so good, and I can almost gaurentee that a new version will be brick walled and be inferior to even the Virgin 90's cd that sounds decent enough.

What's this ?

I hope we finally get to hear "Toss The Coin" and "Old Glory", these titles have been boucing around for 25+ years now, I think I first read about them in Martin Elliott's book in 1990...As for "The Vulture", he wrote that it was an alternate title for the well known "Highway Child", with just Mick on Vox/Guitar and Charlie on drums. Not sure what his source was though.

I'm guessing they'll brickwall SF and make disc 2 part of the release like they did with SOME GIRLS when they should make it a stand alone release ala EXILE.

They did do the standalone for exile, but it really wasn't available everywhere and it wasn't marketed all that well. I think the vast majority of buyers bought it together with Exile as the deluxe set.

That said I agree...I think they should have released the Some Girls cuts as a completely different album, even a different title. Give it it's own identity.

That Some Girls disc two is a classic in it's own right.

If that's true it makes the recent Ben Waters news a bit more intriguing as well. The Stones could record an album between the end of the Australia tour and the 1Q of 2015. The wanting or planning to record new music has been alluded to by Mick, Keith, and I think even Charlie over the past year. Who knows maybe Keith's solo album plans helped trigger Mick to actually want to record a new or newish Stones release. Or it could all be for the SF deluxe. Either way, it's at least possible, at this point, the recording of new music could be in the works between now and next spring. There's a glimmer of hope at least.
