<Perth 73 is my fave,
is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!>

It's a pretty messy version with all the drumming (and/or guitar) mistakes the first minute, but what is interesting about this version is Taylor's wah-wah approach. Haven't heard other GS-versions with wah-wah?

Yes Perth might be messy at the start but once the band hits the groove it is awesome!! Taylor must have thought, well this song has been @#$%& up at the start then I have nothing to lose by playing the solo with a wah-wah !!! A class act...

The Gimme Shelter version of "Ultimate TV Masters" DVD is also SUPERB singing/performance by Jagger (even though it's the studio music).

presumably you mean the "pop go the 60's" broadcast version

Its a fantastic vocal, especially the last verse of it.. ("Gimme...gimme shell-TAH!"

Sorry bassplayer617 but it has to be Wembley 73...

That said, the version with Lisa (Stripped Companion) is magnificent for different reasons.

No need to apologize, Logie, but I haven't heard the Stripped Companion version. However, I do have the B2B video (St Louis 1997) and FF (Twickenham).

One could argue that the latter-day versions are closer to the original studio track than the Taylor showcase of '73, but this only opens up another can of worms.
