No, Erik: Last minor tour!
The next ones are gonna be gigantic! They will take the art of doing concerts to another level, I´m sure!

Please do not use Smiley graphics in subjects. Thanks smiling smiley

PS. I am sure the stock holders of the tour operator want to fill the stadiums. So they probably agreed to call it the last major tour. That way they can sell a lot more tickets and still tour arenas and clubs for the rest of their lives.

They've been saying this for the last THIRTY years.

I've never heard the Stones say that, they've made a good joke out of reporters asking that same old boring question "Is this your last tour".
I remember on one press conference, Jagger took the mic and wandered down from the stage and asked that question. Keith answered with "Yeah this and the next five"

In Stockholm a reporter from the MTV won a Rolling Stones t-shirt for popping that question.

But in the end we fans have to face the fact that the Stones won't tour the world like they have been thru the years. The legacy will eventually have to come to an end, I think the time has come. They might do some concerts still but no tours of this format.

So let's hope they do concerts that last's a bit longer then the usual 2 hours so we can have a long last good look on these guys.

I heard from someone I know, who is very relieable btw, that this is the last tour definently. Various reason for this I'm told too, but was asked not to tell them. So I won't. But this is just so very @#$%& sad man. It's like taking my soul away.
I'm still keeping an open mind about it though. There's always a "What if...." isn't there? Damn I'm feeling so down over this. I'll spend the rest of my weekend feeling down and out. I'll listen to the entire effin' catalogue. Hating these news man. DAMN IT!!!!!!

Jonno: You HAVE to see them on this last tour. smiling smiley

BV: I won't use them anymore. Thanks for setting it straight. smiling smiley

I´m taking a rest from Stones boards and foras now.
Kent; be happy; there´s just bullshiting, they will play for
many years on.
Of course there are greater reasons to believe those rumopurs now than before:
Common people retire while in their 60´s... But are the Stones cats common people... ?
I wish you a happy weekend, and play some good roots reggae & roots blues & some nice Stone records & you recover (also read Gazzas posts; pretty energizing)!

I agree with B.B.: be happy, there are just bullshiting, they will play for

Is this source of you so reliable, that you're sure it's true that this is the final Tour?

I remain positive, but if you have any news please let us know

Since seeing them from '72 on, for the first time I'm convinced this will be the last time.

Why you ask, Charlie's health, Keith's arthritis, Ronnie's booze and Mick, i think he wants to move on to film and other projects. Oh, I think they will show up on occasion for a guest spot at someone's show or album but as far as being the Rolling Stones, I'm convinced this will be the final curtain call.

I for one refuse to see them in a stadium even if this is the last tour. They are much better in an arena or club setting.

At least they were true musicians and never resorted to lip synching like the so called artists of today. No matter how bad Mick's voice was on some nights or the quality of the sound the fans got what they paid for, a chance to see the World's Greatest Rock n Roll Band. No band will replace them.

Ok, at an an unplaceable space in myself, I´m also worried.
We all should be. Christ sake, they are old people.
Sometimes people over 60 just drop dead.
How old was Stu? Less than 50, right? Maybe 40-45?
Still this has been a sells trick to get us to dig deeeeep down in our pcokets or wallets.
I didnt want you, Kent, to be worried.
We all are, but shouldnt be. Beacause worry is unproductive. smiling smiley
Anyway; no use in feelin-blue-sh*t.
Suggestion: Listen to a real Stones-rocker from 1968-72 or
go to [www.pinkfloyd.co.uk]
and click on (e.g.) Shine On Your Crazy Diamond or Arnold Layne: God for a Sunday morning.
See you at some Glimmer convent;
and Kent smiling smiley - you know I´ll visit you in July, you´d better be home!

Wanna add: ...or (if Pink Floyd) "Echoes"; still one of the most strange & peculiar piece of music within the rock tradition ever written.
Timeless. Is it about life or death or both?

And so I ask:

Keith's arthritis? I didn't hear that before. Where does that story come from? From smoking?

Arthritis is inherited.
Keefs lifestyle could have worsened; but it might as well has been a breaking or slowing effext.

Hey, quit this moody trip!
To make the conclusion its their last major because of Mick´s ambitions in film etc... Then they would have made a sorti some 36 years ago.
Read the Stones ´ history.
And, please, cheer up, folks! smiling smiley smiling smiley smiling smiley smiling smiley smiling smiley smiling smiley smiling smiley smiling smiley smiling smiley smiling smiley smiling smiley smiling smiley smiling smiley smiling smiley smiling smiley smiling smiley smiling smiley smiling smiley

36 yrs ago Mick was 26 and it was the beginning of the Mick Taylor era, Mick did venture into film he made Ned Kelly.

Keith's arthritis? I didn't hear that before.

Take a look at Keith's fingers, he even spoke of his arthritis.

Keith's arthritis is ancient news. I'm amazed to still read that people arent aware of it. He's had that problem for almost a decade and its quite evidently worse than it was then.

I'd be surprised if the band officially confirm this upcoming tour as a 'farewell', but deep down I'm about 90% certain it WILL be their final tour. Lets face it, at their age and with recent events, its going to happen sooner rather than later. I would be absolutely amazed if they are still capable of touring in, say, 3 or 4 years time. To be honest, I'm not sure that I'd want to see it.

Anyone who is convinced that the Stones are all in collectively great health and full of youthful vigour enough to keep them playing and touring into their '70's simply is living in dreamland. Every member of the band has had to deal with health issues in the last couple of years which in the long run could seriously hinder their ability to perform and tour. Once one of them becomes incapable of doing so - thats it. Ended.

I was talking to Mid-Swedens hardest hard core fan today.
We can call him Stefan.
He has followed the Stones devoted since 1976 or so,
he is 41 like me. This is what he said:
"No way they quit, as long as there are a paying audience."
("Yeah, and they can play sitting in /wheel-?/chairs")
"Or lying."
Then the talk went over to Johnnie Johnson, he saw him and CB in ´79 or so.
...Remember, those cats are 80. Chuckster is out now, touring.
Agree with ablett on this one: Cheer up. Always look on the bright side of life...

BaboonBro,

I am also 41.

I was born in the middle of a cross fire hurricane to the sounds of the Beatles and Stones dominating the airwaves and invading America. They are truly the soundtrack to my life, since day one.
