I love Rod, but, he needs Ronnie! I've been listening to Gasoline Alley lately,(along with Magic Sam, which is on now, lol), great stuff. My first exposure to Rod was when he was singing for The Jeff Beck Group, "Truth.

I ain't stupid, I'm just guitarded.

Yes, I know he was admired by a lot of artists. But I just don't hear it. I never have. There's nothing I can do about it. I like his albums, like I said... great stuff... but IMHO he doesn't deserve the status he has.

Heresy. You could be kicked out of the club for such a remark/view. Hendrix was/is so far above everyone else, it's insane. Nobody could even come close.

I just have an own opinion. It's not because everybody thinks he's the best... that I have the same opinion. No heresy at all.

K Richards, M Taylor, A & M Young, J Page, Prince, M Waters, B Guy, BB King, R Johnson, E James, JL Hooker, C Berry, R Wood, D Reinhardt, C Christian, ...

(I can go on)

... are all guitarists I prefer above Hendrix.

I'm surprised at some of the names I've been seeing on this thread. I have to strongly disagree with those who said The Doors, Dylan, The Who, Neil Young, and Jimi Hendrix strongly. These are some of the greatest musicians out there. Especially the Doors, the greatest American band in history. I definately agree with Phil Collins, Sting, The Police, the Eagles, KISS, and Dave Matthews. I think Green Day is the best band around today. I think Springsteen is one of the most overrated musicians of all time, he's a greatest hits guy.

Raise your glass to the good and the evil, Let's drink to the salt of the earth.

Agree with the Eagles.I always hated them.I agree with Springsteen too. RankOutsider pulled some good one's out!

I like a lot of Rod's solo stuff. His version of Twistin' the Night Away is great

'RankOutsider' - Billy Joel?

Are you insane? The guys an icon, a God - I would say even better than Barry Manilowe.

Personally I have to say, the band I dread the most is........

'Flip the Switch' (that bass player - so ugly it's not true...)

zappa was far from overrated, one of the most creative geniuses of our times.he along with mark volman, howard kaylan(best male vocals ever)jimmy pons(turtles )ian underwood and don preston formed one of the most talented bands ever,(mothers of invention)unfortunately the profanity did not make the music mainstream,by a long shot.for those that might not know, check out live at the fillmore east,or just another band from la,its humorous, original and down right great.
