This is an area I think they must revisit. Doing 2 Berry tunes a night on the '78 tour I thought was pretty daring considering the material they had to pull from. Plus the tunes on the '69 and '72 tours. I polsted earlier I'd like to see 5 or 6 Berry tunes ina row, but that will never happen. I would like to seem them have a go at: Let it Rock, Around and Around, Carol, Little Queenie, ROute 66, Worried Life BLues, Confessin' the Blues, Sweet Little 16, Jaguar and Thunderbird, Beautiful Delilah, Down the ROad Apiece, etc.. or maybe some ones they haven't done like No Money Down, Almost Grown, Sweet little Rock and Roller, even an inane one like Go Bobbysoxer.
Right DP; "Nadine", a must with Keefster on vocals. But Chuckster-choosing is not a piece of cake, rather like visiting the sweet shop or liqour store, you want almost everything in it...
It's nice to see how many people appreciate NADINE...which is just a great song, one of Chuck's Best, one of the best (and underated) rock and roll records ever made, IMO. I would love to hear the Stones do it.
i still rather they do their own stuff... you know take 2 songs from each of there albums...cover all their old stuff and lots from their new 2 cd big hit album...... let it rock!
i'd love the Stones to cover just about any Berry tune...but I don't think it will happen again. I think there must be something to the rumor that Keith became po'd at CB regarding the Johnnie Johnson accuastions...'cos the boys haven't touched a CB tune (even in rehearsals) since. In '99 they did Route 66, which technically isn't even a Berry tune.
"Little Queenie would be fine; and for the crème de la crème "My Ding-A-Ling" with Keith or Ron on vocals."
You lot are bonkers!!! My ding a ling!!! get out!! Which bit would keith do...'You'd catch me playing with my ding-a-ling' perhaps Ronnie could do'Sure was hard swimming cross that thing with both hands holding my dingaling' Now thats something I would pay for...fantastic!
