John McEnroe appeared briefly on stage before the Hyde Park show last night. He was having his photo taken with the crowd as the backdrop and turned round before he returned backstage to give us all a wave.

I'm not a tennis fan (a serious social disadvantage in Britain at this time of year) = but that was an AMAZING match and Andy Murray brought off some near-impossible shots - well done, sir!

I remember seeing McEnroe seated in one of the side boxes at the Keef/Winos 1992 New Year's Eve show at the Academy in New York. He had just split from Tatum O'Neal and had a forlorn expression.

He's supposedly a big Stones fan, but he's a big spoiled baby, with his famous tantrums and all. None of those could ever top, "if those cats don't stop it, man, we're splitting!"
