Lady Jane - the greatest new live ballad in 2012/13

Today I listened to the Lady Jane live rendition from London 2013 on my stereo (thanks to Youtube) and though I was not there I think it was the greatest ballad they did on that tour and one of the best renditions by Mick Jagger. I wonder why they did not perform it during the US tour now that they had rehearsed and played it already. It must have been one of the most moving moments of the 2012/13 tour! I really missed a couple of more ballads where you can light your lighters to.

Although already played in London it would be a great choice for the Hyde Park concerts!

Yes, please! I love the version from London. Great voice by Mick!

I also was captivated by "Factory Girl" (they played it yesterday, too, as far as I understand, renaming it into "Glastonbury Girl"?) and by "No Expectations".

A good thing about songs like Lady Jane, and Tears Go By is that there's very little bass participation for me to be disappointed by Darryl's playing. They sound like classic Stones songs, the way they're supposed to be played.

I love it! thumbs up

I have repeatedly posted the clip from November 29, only to get comments like "everybody can play those guitars" etc.

It is indeed beautiful, and perfectly performed.

Well, if you're going to make a contest of it: another Lady Jane fan here.

And if they stuck to the warhorses we wouldn't have had the Glastonbury Girl (great idea and great fun). But I don't think you mean "stick to the warhorses" so much as "stick to songs we can fit into the Rock genre". There's more to the Stones than that, thank goodness - they may have helped to create the Rock genre, but they can't be confined within it.

No, I meant that if we do not express our wishes for some rarely played songs on this board (whicht the Stones read, as we all know) we get the warhorses over and over again.

I mean for example Tumbling dice is a classic song but IMHO it has more or less been played to death.
Same goes for Sympathy for the devil.
But of course they have to play a string of their classic hits to draw the big audiences.

Why didn't they include Lady Jane into the public vote for Hyde Park?

Such a great song! I wish they had played it *every* night of the tour! They killed it in London.

This is my last attempt for the last concert of this tour. Lady Jane would be a great, moving moment during the second concert at Hyde Park! Play it again, Stones! For old times sake!
