I think its disgraceful that in the 26 1/2 year reign of this current Pontiff that the Stones have only released seven studio albums.

Yet they've chosen to pad it out with five live albums and five compilations.

I appreciate your humor Carl. I hope other Cathloics have a good sense of humor too! John Paul has been a good pope (for the 14th century) and I wish him well.

Many Stones connections with the Pope I think...

I hope they play Rome on the next tour. That would be great. They did Milan after a long time, so they are getting closer to Rome now...

And didn't the Pope do an appearance in Toronto some time before the Stones, at the same or a similar site, and to a large or larger crowd? I am thinking about SarsStock.

Yes, but the Pope always plays larger venues. Also, he usually tours behind new material.

But, if you consider ticket prices, the Stones usually gross more.

Hey all of you who's wrote that stupid,posts...i @#$%& you!!!!sorry BV but they are stupid....i'm not a "big"catholic but the JP II was (is) someone special..and we in Poland will miss him ..

I personally think Popes have gone downhill since John Paul George Ringo's days.

some people are really stupid ...and we can't do anything with them...

I am sure that most people in the world have a deep respect for the Pope, and when they post something meaningful or meaningless about the Pope these days, it is because they just want to express their feelings. No harm, no offence. If nobody cared then I would be worried.

I'm not a Catholic but I've no animosity towards him. I'm sure its a sad day for Poland.

Look Tomek, the jokes are all connected to the Stones, of course it´s sad in the catholic parts of the world that the pope is dying, but he is an old man, and we are all going that way, sooner or later, no matter if we are popes or not, ok? Remember the pic with Keith and the newspaper? " Pope declares: Keith Richards is God", that should put things in perspective

What's all the fuss really about? I mean who gives a shit about an old fart like the Pope. It's not that he's irreplaceble.
When the current Pope's kicked the bucket a new clown will appear.
Perhaps an Italian Pope would be a bit more classy than this fella from Poland.
It'd be nice if Georgi Armani could design som fancy clothes for the next leader of the Catholic church.
I hear people in Poland are mourning. They'd better be mourning the fact that Polish women are only permitted to perform abortions in a very restricted way. That's truly sad and ought to be a rightful cause of incessant worldwide mourning.

That was not very nice, Manhattan. No, I'm not a Catholic, or even religious at all, but John Paul offered much courage and conviction to his life. He was a true believer and incorruptible, which is more than I can say for many previous Popes. For that, I admire him, even if I disagree with him.

It takes a really special fan to bitch about the stones and the pope in the same post.
