A pointless question. They're playing their 50 & Counting set. Mick Taylor will be on Midnight Rambler and Satisfaction, and maybe, as a long shot, one additional song during the main set, either Sway or CYHMK.

The only difference is that there will be no hippie tents in the Pit.

Not pointless at all. Mick said he was aware it was totally different to play a festival crowd instead of 20 000 folks in an arena who are just there for the Stones. He mentioned it was important to get a decent opener. And this is IMHO not the way they start GOOMC. There´s no kick-start in the intro, as much as I love the song.

I think they will change the set for A festival and open with JJF

JJF

It ought to be something with a big loud riff as the intro - JJF, Satisfaction, Start Me Up - then they can carry on into the usual GOOMC if they want to.

I predict:

1.JJ Flash
2.Get Off Of My Cloud

Ultimate guest would be Iggy Pop on Street Fighting Man or something. That would get the crowd going.

Big loud riff did you say ???

Well there's no point in the Rolling Stones playing then really, is there ? all that quiet stuff they do. Do you mean to say they're known for big loud opening riffs ? They are ?

Tsk, never noticed. MUST pay more attention ...........

She Said Yeah has a nice opening riff. I'm really into the "Out of Our Heads" album at the moment!

I do have an unfortunate habit of saying the bleeding obvious, don't I? I'm surprised bv hasn't banned me for being a waste of good bandwidth.

The Rolling Stones performance is expected to start at:

9:30pm UK time, i.e. 22:30 Central European Time, 4:30pm EST (USA East Coast), 1:30pm PST (USA West Coast), lasting for approx 2 hours 15 minutes.

PS. The wellies sales are off now! The sun is shining from blue sky at Glastonbury, and the Rolling Stones will be on the Pyramid Stage in less than 8 hours from now!

I'm not sure if Facebook is required but if you're au fait with Spotify, this seems to be part of it [soundrop.fm]

I hope they don't start with GOOMC. Any one of a handful of openers will do, just to break the predictability. Go on Mick, go for it. winking smiley
Just been looking at my signature that I've had for years.
Quite apt for Glastonbury. Most likely to hear OK, but if you're at back of 200,000
people may not get a decent view. eye rolling smiley
