Talking about 50 years and counting: There is another 50 year jubilee coming up in April and May 2014; namely the release of their first album "The Rolling Stones (England's Newest Hitmakers)".
Released April 16th in England and May 30th in The US. Maybe suitable dates to start the 2014 tour?

he hasnt. there's not a whisper of such an interview or quote anywhere.

The guy probably thought he could make that up, safe in the knowledge that the Stones playing or not playing those places affects hardly anyone in the area he's broadcasting in.

Either that or he's taken Ronnie's recent radio quote about hoping to play other places in 2014, switched it to Mick Jagger because it sounds more impressive and twisted it into a 'confirmation'.

Gaz, long time buddy, as for the stones playing euro, i would think they will, possibly starting again in the spring in the USA, then, the usual summer tour of euro in 2014, maybe some others in asia, etc. winking smiley

Yes, I CAN guess your name. And a happy smiley face to you too! smiling smiley Hope youre well.

And even more, on that very date to release an album of new studio songs! Then start a tour!

That means the 50 & Counting tour is continuing?
Without a new album they have to continue it.

Without a new studio album it will be a real "Vegas Tour"...It is very sad after nine years from the last studio album having a new tour only with the usual warhorses. If they are still a "Current Band" as usually said Mr.Jagger, then they must prove it with a little bit of creativity, on the contrary it means that is only for the money...2002:"Forty licks" definitive Anthology with four new songs, 2012:"Grrr!" re-definitive Anthology with two(?!?) new songs...Only ten years after with only ONE studio album of new stuff...Sorry, but it is a very poor trend...

Why do you think the real facts about the 'cancelled' 2nd leg of the 50 & Counting Tour are not so verifiable available as they should be...?

The answer to that will get you closer to predicting a yes or a no for another tour.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned as I can't be bothered to read all the back posts in this thread but had the chance to download the HP/Glastonbury interviews Keessie was nice enough to upload and had a listen today.

Track 8 is an interview between Keef and Ian Camfield for XFM London where Keef says that European shows have already been ckleard by everyone (the band?)for later this year ( most likely next though) and that there are details to work out and he can't confirm for sure.

Unless one of the boys go ill I am guessing Europe will get shows sooner then later.

An educated guess based on what Keef, Mick, and Ronnie have said so my statement is still valid winking smiley

Has the European tour been cleared with the Scarf? I understand that the Scarf gets final sign-off on these decisions and he is still angry about Pierre's scarf overdubbing his Scarf me up intro.

The Scarf just wants another chance to perform some Scarf-style versions of the intro, so a European tour is fine.

if Ronnie is correct we will be seeing the stones go on tour in Europe in the spring of 2014.
which gives us enough time to start saving for a trip to Amsterdam.

I heard they're planning to play the new Ziggo Dome for 1 or 2 nights.
And maybe even start (rehearsals) the tour in Holland with a small club gig at the Paradiso Club to get this thing ready and rolling!

New Flash

Reuters have this morning reported that The Scarf has been ivolved in an accident whilst on holiday .

He had been hanging on a coconut tree, lost his grip and became entangled in a thorn bush.

He had at first appeared to be OK but was was subsequently rushed to a specialist seamstress for emergency darning.

This is likely to delay the start of the Rolling Stones beat group's planned European tour, which may now be postponed until the spring/summer of next year.

Report from republica.com.uy says the Stones will play Uruguay in the second half of 2014, as a possible World Cup tie-in.
