Lonely and Drunk

The family's only been gone for a day, but the loneliness is already setting in... I need a song to cheer me up--any suggestions? Right now I'm listening to Springsteen's live version of "My Love Will Not Let You Down". Very nice, but what about some Stones' songs to pick me up?

Hey, Karl, as a fellow West Virginian, it was a heartbreaking loss by WVU to Louisville in the NCAA tournament, but we gave it our best shot. Kudos to their efforts in going so far this year.

They had it, Bp, and blew it! A great effort though nonetheless. Would have pegged you as a Thundering Herd fan! Montani Semper Liberi!

Where's the Giant Whore when I need her? Some tea & sympathy would be nice right now.

Well bassplayer when ya think about it The Stones have never really recorded a song that you can slash your wrists to. Everything is geared to push to listener .... even Paint It Black.

So your safe any Stones track will pick you up but if ya really wanna howl chuck on the 4th side of Exile and set about wreckin' the room...!!!

Lonely and drunk?
Sounds like country music would help.
You could go through the albums and play the country tunes.
When I've been in that condition,
the El Mocambo side was always good.
Or anything from MSG '75.
Can't explain why, it just did.
I saw that West Virgina game, too. (i have relatives in WV)
Was rooting for them...but they blew it.
At least they made it that far.

George Jones.
That's all a lonely drunk needs, besides more alcohol.
I'd try "If Drinking don't Kill Me" for starters, then work your way up to "Wine Colored Roses". George has a way with the bottle.

Believe it or not, I opted for Jimmy Page/Robert Plant's "No Quarter--Unledded". Inspired playing and the Middle Eastern flavor with the Egyptian players, plus the orchestra--"Kashmir" is blasting as I write. Wow. Hmm, how about "Moonlight Mile" next, and then some AC/DC as a change of pace--"It's A Long Way to the Top" always puts a smile on my face--rock n roll bagpipes! Yeah, that's the ticket LOL. No crying in my beer for this lad. Maybe later--say around 3 or 4 am--the night is still young.

Herd fan? No way. The Herd is for folks who think that Huntington is even a part of WV. They are closet Buckeyes, or worse, Kentuckians. REAL West Virginians are Mountaineer fans.

Karl--personal foul--you really make me miss my young wife. To make it worse, right now I'm listening to AC/DC's "Let Me Put Me My Love Into You". Time to change tunes. How about "Have A Drink On Me" LOL.

In all honesty, I'm really enjoying my solitude, and it's back to work on Monday--it's kinda nice not having any distractions. "I'm free, to do what I want, any old time".

Bassplayer, there's always that old favorite

"I want to kiss her butt..................

she won't let me.

Laughs,

Absence always makes the fart grow honder, or you know what I mean!

How about a little Miss you - Ooooohwaooohooohaoooh?

"you've been staring in my dreams."
Reaccuring dreams of old girlfriends is harsh. Sometimes I think MJ doesn't get enough credit for his lyrics. Othertimes I understand why.

Ha ha ha --no one has ever accused Mick of being a paragon of fidelity. Having been a member of a band, I'm not innocent either, but there's a lot to be said for sticking to one partner--the one you are hopelessly in love with. I am not ashamed to admit that my wife keeps me happy, and after two previous unsuccessful marriages, I consider myself very lucky.
