I was just at the barbers this morning and while I was waiting I read this story in one of the UK tabloids. Unfortunately the online version doesn't give the whole story.

It went on to say that obviously the Stones had expresed their desire to play the opening gig at the new Wembley in London as part of their "2006 tour which was rumoured to be their last"

It is believed to be between the Stones and "The band of the moment, U2"

I suppose we all knew about the Stones' desire to play the opening gig here already and to be honest this "Column" is nothing more than a gossip column but I thought you might be interested anyway.

The important part is that they do get back on the road,'cause that's where our blokes belong.

I confirm that the Stones were the first artists to play at the Stade de France.
It would seem quite bizarre and inadequate not fot them to do the same for the new Wembley. I can assure you that many french stones Fan will comme accross the channel for that event....

Sorry Havo, but BV is correct. The new Wembley opens in May 2006, just a little over a year from now. It would be perfect timing for the Stones European tour. I bet they play it.
