I saw her "ta-dee" at the reception
Posted by: CindyC ()

sorry if this is a repost, but didn't see a previous discussion....

Why does he have to pronounce "today" like this? It really sounds absurd. In fact, I H-A-T-E it!

I can see changing the "to" to "ta", but there is just no excuse for "day" to "dee".

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

i can't see it, but colonial and terry do it all the time, so we're getting used to it.

I actually really enjoyed the show! I've been hating that ta-dee thing for a while now, just kept forgetting to mention it.

Am I the only one who doesn't care about the way Mick pronounces things?

I honestly never think about it, well not until I saw here how many people do think about it...

Sir Michael's stage pronunciation is a schizophrenic mixture of middle-class English, cockney, and mock American language. Added with some scatting. But he made it his own!

i don't mind that one, and i don't usually mind people changing word sounds [unless it's because of a damn southern accent (that is directed at my boyfriend) tee hee], but ta-dee just sound effing stupid IMHO.

so help me with your thought process-did you think that if you post this complaint on a fansite we will call mick and express your concerns or
was it just bothering you so much that you needed to talk about it with someone?

maybe if you have gotten to the point where the proper way to pronounce a word is whats on your mind it could be that rock and roll is no longer for you, or at least maybe the rolling stones aren't the band for you.
seriously, maybe its just time to move on.maybe spend the time taking a pottery course or something.

Look Lem,

We spend enough money on these guys...is it too much to ask for him to pronounce words properly? Really, would it be that hard?

The bastard seems to go out of his way to irritate.

Baybuh! Beast of Boidon, To-dee...where does it end?

Maybe he's trying to say "booby" not "baby"? (I guess he would still be mispronouncing it...)

I constantly feel I have to defend you from your detractors, and then every once in a while you come up with a solid gold suggestion.

I like that one!

Really, most of the Mick-isms don't bother me either, like you, latebloomer.

I guess if he said my name wrong or pronounced it way off, it would, if we
were really close. Right now he just calls out, AIN-JAI, which is rather cute, I think.
cool smiley
