which means that, counting the original release, you'll have bought the same compilation albums of previously released material 3 times over? (4 if you bought the original vinyls)

(shakes head)

thanks for the tip-off. I think I'll avoid them, although I may get SITS in some discount online shop somewhere as I didnt get it on CD previously. Certainly in no rush to get it, though!

Hahaha. Well, Gaz my man. I don't think there's nothing wrong with having more editions of the same disc I think. Check what I have here:
Bridges To Babylon in 3 different CD editions.
SF (Two CD editions)
SF (Two CD editions)
Exile (Two CD editions)
IORR (Two CD editions)
B&B (Two CD editions)
SG (Two CD editions, and on LP with original cover)
TY (Two CD editions)
Most ABKCO remasters in two editions (The old ones and the new ones)
Official B2B concert on both VHS and DVD
R&R Circus on VHS and DVD
Talk Is Cheap on normal CD, and the limited edition with a round cardboard case that has a black tin box with three mini CDs in it.

I'm gonna buy MITS and SITS for sure. grinning smiley

Only 2 versions of Talk Is Cheap and three of Some Girls. I thought this site was for the hardcore !!

Add Gold edition CD, vinyl, and cassette to Talk Is Cheap

Some Girls original LP, remodelled cover, orange vinyl, red vinyl, original cassette with wrap around cover, CBS CD, Virgin in replica sleeve, Virgin CD.

Gazza - you know I need help !!

Come on completists every where lets show 'em.

I've got the digipacks. There nothing new on those either. Sound is better compared to the original releases, but that's about it. No new / promo stuff as was promised. I'm still listening to them right now. If something 'exiting' comes up, I'll let you know. And Gazza: The S.I.T.S. digipack version has a small red sticker on the cover (saying The Rolling Stones, Sucking in the Seventies), so it looks different than the previous versions!

well thank fĂșck for that. I thought I wasnt missing out on anything for a minute there!

I'm something of a completist too, but I've kinda started to draw the line at unimaginative repackaging of already repackaged albums (not to mention declining to buy BOTH versions of LiveLicks with the censored and uncensored cover differences)

I never played my Sucking lp except for the 3 'rare' trax - is there something different (besides the editing) about the rest?

No, the only thing that's different (on Made in the Shade) are the horns in the outro of Tumbling Dice. They are a bit more upfront.

Well thanks - I've had a sealed copy of MITS for 20 years sealed so never played it. I recall in '75 Keith said that the mastering was 'hotter' on the MITS vinyl, as the very long IORR (48 minutes) had been compromised in the mastering process. IORR always did sound a little lumpy & airless on vinyl.

Sucking in the seventies got the sticker on both of them. Same text, different numbers.

Witch version is the other one with the sticker? My 'old' S.I.T.S. NEVER had a sticker.

Hi.
Both of the new ones. (Hard box and digipack)

.....and the only sticker I got on my old CBS-CD is the one with "Nice Price"!

Have a nice day and a happy easter everyone.

SITS had a number of single and promo edits
on it, a bit shorter and snappier Shattered for
example. They cut short the guitar solo on
Time which is a crime. LP title says it
all. But was fun in a toss off sort
of way.

I think Made in the Shade gave them a greatest
hit package in the stores while they hit the
road touring again I think, was it's
raison de'etre. Not a very imaginativwe
track listing. Are these new remastersor the
same as on the virgin resissues?
