Should The Rolling Stones drop one of the new songs?

Should they drop one of the new songs and which one? This seems to be a point in the show that slows things down maybe because they are played back to back. When asked by USA Today if he would like to make a follow-up to 2005's 'A Bigger Bang', he replied. "It would be nice to have a new album, but people don't like the new album when you play it onstage." He added: "They glumly look at you. 'OK, it will be over in a minute'. It's not a good excuse, but it's the truth and has to be said". Neither Doom and Gloom or One More Shot hit a spark for me DNG for the lyrics and OMS because it sounds just like Mixed Emotions when it starts. If one should go which do you pick and why?

That was just Mick sabotaging a perfectly good filler track...He wanted D&G to be the fan fave...

That wasn't part of the question, but to answer about 50 other songs would fit.

Nope, two great new songs - we have been complaining about lack of new songs and now we want to skip the new songs!!!

Doom and Gloom should stay.
Great song and it sounds pretty good live.

OMS is just a poor track. Not due to the lyric. It just goes nowhere.

Drop em both and plop in Out Of Control and I Go Wild.

OMS is unnecessary.

Out of Control live always works for me.
But I thought the audience reaction was pretty lame when they played it in the o2. Probably that's why they dropped it. A pity.

It's cool that they play both, imo.

Not both but there were some other good "new" songs released on the Exile and Some Girls re-releases as well. Plunder My Soul gets mentioned often here.

i think replacing them both with 8 minutes of silence would be a serious step toward a more respectable performance.

Should've known that "On Broadway" or "Hawaii Five-O" would've been better suggestions.

Peace,
Mr DJA

They are not that bad BUT there are several better songs on the new Exile and Girls reissues. Dont Be A Stranger (perhaps with Ronnie, Keith and Mick seated) would be amazing! Or how 'bout No Spare Parts being played when they get the urge to do Far Away Eyes?

The fact they have never played Plundered My Soul is a real shame.

They should ditch both new songs. It's not that they're new - it's that they're simply not good songs. They're both boring and limp - no hooks, no sing-a-long-ability.

Replace them with ANY song from 1968 to 1981.

But people won't have to go to the bathroom/have a smoke that early in the show.

One More Shot is mediocre, but D&G is an excellent rocking song.

Maybe they should replace them with a cover version of Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da, Buffalo Bill or even Yellow Submarine smileys with beer that would be great

YES, drop both of them and add " Shine A Light", or a new one f rom the EXILE bonus tracks, or WINTER with Mick Taylor. I could go on and on but I won't. Just saying I'm not thrilled with either of the new tracks.
