The great Lyn Collins (familiar to those who own "James Brown's Funky Divas" or "Funky People" or the hit "Think" widely sampled on a crass 80s hip-hop hit) has died at 56, heart arrythmia. RIP.

No, it's really a JB track (song, band, production) w/ Lyn's vocals - the '80s song that sampled it (heavily) was called "It Takes Two to Make a Thing Go Right" - she also had a JB produced album in '71 or '72, and a followup a year or two later.And She was part of the JB revue, billed as "The Female Preacher". The Funky People (1, 2 & 3) series & Funky Divas double cd are well worth checking out - much of her best singles, plus prime JB duets & productions from the 60s/early 70s
