Well, I´m a rookie here among all the heavy hard core´rs...
But this Fenway thing doesnt seem a bit more credible or reliable than
Hyde Park... And then some of us at times almost believed Hyde Park.
Maybe it has to do with lack of distance to the subject:
If you live close to the playground or the arena...
And the factor of wishful (or magic?) thinking might be working.
I may be a fool but I still see Fenway as a boosted duck.
The tour may well start in August, but in its absolute latest days.
In Canada. Source? None: Thats sheer belief.
And maybe statistics from the more credible users here.

Source, are you suggesting the Stones will hold the press conference in the Fenway?

Late August in Boston sounds about right, but I sincerely hope it's not at Fenway - what a horrible venue for a rock concert!

No Im not suggesting Fenway as the venue for the Press conference I think it will be New York you gett he best press coverage there ...However you never no Mick as met the press in the Past at opening Stadiums you never know....I mentioned Fenway a few weeks ago and after the haearing at the end of March it should be ok.

Ok, record release date sometime mid-August, right... ?
But is it a common thing in Stones history that an album is released; and then they fo touring just 1-2 weeks after release date...
- Izzat a common thing in the rock world, by the way?
(sorry, mainly raised kids the last almost 15 years)

Is there no possibility whatsoever that the tour will start in September?
Is it a climate/warmth/outdoor thing... ?

By the way - check rockp(ass-si-on /www.~.com)-site out... Not yet any Woody-stuff there, but smashing Stones things anyway...

I am based in Toronto and I happend to visit KLIM Art Gallery over the past weekend. This Gallery retains the Canadian rights to Ronnie's collection of original art work. Nevertheless, I found myself chatting with the owner about the ART scene in Toronto. At one point, I inquired as to the working relationship with Ronnie's team as a client. She told me that she was contacted by his team recently and informed that she should expect him again this summer in Toronto as he, once again, will be living here with balance of band.

I trust this all sounds familiar. Stones, Toronto, Michael Cohl, Tax "play" prior to kick of world tour..........

So do I. The warm-up gig in Canada (probably Toronto) might take place at the end of August but the tour will officially start later (September), maybe in Boston but I doubt it because they opened the tour in Boston last time. As they prefer changing the cities for the opening shows (they have done Philly, Washington, Chicago, Boston in the past) my guess for the opening show this time is... NEW YORK. I don't think they've ever opened a tour in the "Big Apple", right? As it will probably be a city on the east coast and New York hasn't seen an opening night so far, this seems to make sense to me. I couldn't think of any other suitable city in the east.....except Boothbay Harbor, Maine maybe.

Let's just wait for the pressconference.

Woody Virgin Radio interview consistent with my posting a few weeks ago remarking upon Woody's local gallery - KLIM - informing me that they were expecting Ronnie back living in T.O. for a few months for rehearsals.

1) 1981 press conference was held at JFK Stadium. Mick only.

2) A stadium show in Seattle? They only sold about 18-19k for the Tacoma Dome and it was nowhere near a sellout.

3) If AC/DC really does open, the Stones set itself would be anti-climatic.
