Mick Taylor 2013 tour : I wonder what he is being paid
Posted by: JC21769 ()

Just wondering how much the Stones are paying Mick Taylor to be on the tour. I hope MT is making good money.

Anyone have any info regarding?

I am don't think it will be an enormous figure given that he only plays on two songs basically compare to let's say Chuck and the other back up musicians and it's not like they bring Clapton or Beck on tour with him...
But, it will be a far better pay check than most of us get winking smiley

Cheers,
Wuudy

I sure hope he gets enough money to pay for his gas bills, car maintenance and dentist bills...

Clearly he is being paid enough for two songs and not enough for more.

the post makes it so easy to take a cheap shot at Taylor... i'm biting my tongue if only not to stoop to the level of some of the Taylorites.

Nobody knows. We're all guessing. What do you think? I see 21 shows on the list so let's say they guaranteed him $200,000, divide that by an even 20 shows and you get about $10,000 a show. I gotta think that's about tops. It might be as low as half that. Plus of course, all expenses paid, yada yada yada. Plus some money or royalties on the back end like the live dvd, live CD etc. Plus a lot of other empty promises.

More than enough to cancel Kinross > oh well at least I saw him once in my living room, and once in my Cellar at The Edinburgh Caley Brewery around 2000 I think.
Good luck to him he deserves a good pay day for his contribution to the Golden Era.

Seems like he is MJ's insurance policy for these gigs.

most likely he is being paid more than we all would guess. not unreasonable to think there's some compensation for past contribution ...better late than never...

very possibly the history Taylor has with the band plus his ability to play is of greater value...not sayin Blondie wasn't valuable at the time..

A waiver of claims against them has to be part of the deal....

Same as Lady Gaga, an autographed leather jacket each show. Check Ebay when the tour is over.

Many Clapton fans feel the Cream reunion was all about putting cash in Ginger Bakers pocket. I can only guess the Stones are a charitable organization now.........Mick and Prince Rupert found a loophole.

I would guess that he has all-expenses-paid, travel, hotel, food, and probably $5000-$6000 per show

Who knows, it might be by song, or it might be by show. Either way, Taylor is getting to travel and live in luxury and hang out with his old mates as well as play every night. The exposure will do his career no harm at all and I expect he will turn a corner after the tour and re-launch himself. He will have a new legion of fans from this. Hope he can handle the massive come down at the end. Mick, Keith, Ronnie and Charlie have the financial resources to slip back into their other lives, be that hanging out in the carribean, painting, rearing horses, clothes designing from a french chateau - what does Taylor have? Back to playing dives across Europe? Let's hope he has new plans.

I was going to say the same thing but in pounds - £10,000 a show which ain't bad going for playing 2-4 songs.

The whole Mick Taylor thing is a strange situation. They're dragging him all over the landscape but he's only playing on two (usually) songs, which raises a lot of questions for me. Is it Mick and or Keith that don't want him stealing the show by playing on all songs? Or is Taylor's health not up to playing the full show every night? Or would it have been too difficult to rehearse every single song with MT before the tour began? At any rate, it's great to see him at all and I hope they're making it worth his while financially.

Read that it as a little over 2 million.

Good for him, and good on the rest of the band for making this happen for him.

Still don't want him on more songs though, thanks.

Or any hologram's of Brian Jones just in case the Taylorite's are as crazy about him as they are MT.
