Am I the only one who loves this???
Date: May 31, 2013 13:01

Complaining, whining, criticism aside. The Stones is still the greatest rock'n'roll band in the world when they perform like this!

Mick is incredible... when he starts that clappy thing it's like 40 years ago.

A good version, but not exceptional ... Nothing compare with Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out or 1971-1972 ones...

Have to open a bottle of champagne or jump out the window when a version is correct. Come on !

But yes, Mick is fabulous here.

PS : We can rely on a video now ?????????????????????????????

Yes, it's great, and so are many many other songs on this tour.

What do you mean rely on a video? Sometimes the energy comes across to you, sometimes not. This one would have been great on a crappy Fisher Price toy radio - other songs that require good sound, or have delicate arrangements wouldn't...

You are not alone! That harkens back to the basic musical rawness of the 1964 - 1967 tours!

No, you couldn't be the only one that loves this....they are awesome.

And may I say "THAT VIDEOGRAPHER DESERVES A GOLD MEDAL!"

She/He deserves Gold Medal for multiple things 1) Doing the things to obtain pit tickets 2) Doing the things to be in the front of the pit 4) Having a good camera with them 3) Starting to record in time 5) excellent framing and zooming to keep the players in the picture. 6) it is not wobbly 7) it is held high 8) ect ect..... OVER ALL AWESOME! Thank you!

More goes into capturing quality video like this than one might imagine. Remember that is a not a paid pro with easy access. That fan shot by a videographer doing it for the love of the game.

BUY THAT VIDEOGRAPHER ALL THE DRINKS THEY WANT! smileys with beer THANK YOU

In addition to the Stones, who of course all deserve GOLD MEDALS for the performance. Thank goodness (thank The Stones) for allowing performances to be recorde and simply evaporate up into the stratosphere.

I mean based on a video, because it's not allowed on IORR to comment a version when the it suggests it's awful smiling smiley (you have to be at the show man !)

The video is reliable when the Stones are good so... (rule N°2 smiling smiley

Forget about Sympathy For The Devil. It won't ever sound good again, not even with Taylor smiling smiley

Not only SFTD... Lots of weak versions with no riff...

Great track "rocking and kicking" it made me think of "SFM" 95 live while they just kept on hammering the power riffs and the beat of this great track

Re: Am I the only one who loves this???
Date: May 31, 2013 14:41

No riffs?? That is wrong, actually very wrong.

All the renditions of BS, JJF, Satisfaction, HTW, IORR, GS, ADTL, SFM, CYHMK, ER and YGMR have distinctive, loud and clear riffs - clearer and tougher than most other bands in the world...

Ah, wait a minute, you mean extended guitar solos (not to be confused with Keith's brilliant riffs which are so crucial for the Stones's unique sound) grinning smiley

They play it throughout the Licks tour.
As recently as September, 2003 that I can remember.

On the internet nobody knows
you're Mick Jagger
