I think it was one of the first times they played Brown Sugar live on Stage.

I was wondering why Bobby Keys did the Solo although he was on stage. Or did they mix his solo away?

Does anybody knwo that?

Hi Bartman. Actually, thr first time "Brown Sugar" was played live was in December '69 at Altamont and was later staple of the 1970 European Tour. You pose a good question though as to why Bobby didn't play the solo at Leeds though. Anyone know the first time he did play it live?

First time with Keys on sax was Malmo (30-08-1970).

He played on the version from Keith's birthday with Eric Clapton I think.

Bartman's point is - If Bobby were onstage at Leeds, why didn't he play?

The point was taken but his question brought up another. I just listened to Brown Sugar from Paris 1970 and although you can clearly hear him and Jim Price Bobby doesn't play the sax solo on this version either. I reckon it just a matter of the band, or just Keith, deciding on the arrangment.
