...about his endurance? That's a strange way to experience rehab...usually kicking and screaming is the preferred method...

"Endured rehab" Makes it sound like he managed to not get sober.

I would think Keith endured rehab...maybe Mick really means it. He might be enduring this tour to help embrace rehab, or possibly rehabbing to have enough endurance for this tour....or...I've lost my place now...

I think the article is bull. I've seen MT turn down drinks on stage so he can focus on his playing, then sip a pint after the show. Unless there is some unobserved drug involved, MT would not seem to have a drinking problem.

Years ago, when I talked to Mick Taylor after a concert, he was clearly not drunk. He was very friendly and gentle and showed no signs of drugs or alcohol. It was a pleasure meeting him (I do actally not like meeting drunk people, to be honest), and I would have liked talking longer to him if a friend had not pulled me away because he got shy talking to such a famous person. But having to play small clubs whenaou are actually one of the world-class guitarists certainly does hurt, not at least financially.

Would it really be possible to get someone off an alcohol addiction within a month?

You're never "off" alcohol addiction. You're an alcoholic for life, and it's a constant battle. You have to win the battle every day of your sobriety.

You can certainly stop drinking alcohol after a month of rehab. It's staying off that is hard. Pretty much the worst possible environment to be in for someone who has just kicked a habit (alcohol or otherwise) is a rock and roll tour.

No, and that goes for any addiction actually. Its also about mind set, environment, the friends you choose, etc etc.
Playing the guitar a lot is a good therapy though.

Why would he need insurance? If he's ill or can't play for whatever reason the show will go on so it's not the same as for the core members.

Cheers,
Wuudy

Good that Taylor is getting help. Now where's that guy saying that "Taylor is a quitter" ? Like if that is a bad thing.....especially when it comes to Rolling Stones. Even I would have quitted after the early 80s

I would be surprised if Taylor could afford a drug problem. He was probably told to lay off alcohol in a general weight loss program. Eat healthier and sweat off some pounds. Dropping booze helps that. I'd guess the band paid for it and Taylor would be crazy not to take advantage of it. Whatever he did for 35 days helped...a lot. He looks much better than in recent years. He has his face back. I was not happy to see him dump a cig on stage. He has had respiratory problems in the past. Smoking is not a smart move Mick. But all in all, I am very happy for him and am grateful for the band's support of him.
