aren't they all required by insurance regulations in the contract to have a physical, and be certified medically sound enough to meet the conditions specified in the contract...?

that would mean rehab if necessary, in order to tour..

The four Stones certainly, guests, probably not.

Well it's good to hear he took responsibility or was given a good reason to do it, let's hope it won't be a "Ron Wood"" approach to rehabs since he's been through at least 3...I must say I was quite shocked to hear from a fan that when Taylor played the New Morning (in 2009 ?) he was started the concert by lying on the floor seemingly passed out...

is his official status a guest on this tour? i guess he's guest but its more like a touring sideman, like Bobby..

Special guest.

I'm sure there must be some bad stories about Mick Taylor out there...why don't we hear about them then?

Because he's just such a damn nice guy.

...glad he's found his way back to the band and hope his role within increases.

...about his endurance? That's a strange way to experience rehab...usually kicking and screaming is the preferred method...

i am sure that will be part of it..

Maybe the insurance requires him not to play more than 3-4 songs? I don't know anything about his alcohol consumption but he didn't look too healthy a year or so ago.

Yeah, tough for him to leave something like this behind, very painful to watch, he created so many perfect guitar parts... He was a young boy when he played Hyde Park.

Yea but he was a pretty OLD man when he crushed CYHMK last week. He left no doubts as to his current abilities...especially compared to the others. Its pretty clear why he isn't playing. E-G-O.

I think it's just plain stupid to talk in public about issues that are completely irrelevant at this precious moment.

Having seen Taylor drunk as a skunk and totally out of it on numerous occasions, it certainly is a pleasure to see him now. Whatever the reason, musical, insurance, contracts, Jagger, I don´t care. Main thing is that he is playing with The Stones, in a good shape, and thereby getting public attention from tens of thousands of fans once more. A gigantic step from playing crappy blues clubs in little known small towns in Europe... It´s been so sad to see him sometimes, so I fully enjoy seeing him proud and joyful on a big stage to complete satisfaction from the crowd.
I wish him all the best. I hope he will stay sober, I hope they´re all good friends, I hope he will play some more songs, I hope he will get his fare share of the money, and most of all I hope he will be able to take care of himself and his career after this tour.
To me I think the list of songs he did recently, Sway, Knockin´, Rambler and Satisfaction is more or less the most we may hope for. Sure he could play All down the line, Sympathy, Shelter and so on, but the four listed is great. I don´t need any other "guests" if I get that in London.

Anyway, thumbs up for Taylors cleaning up.

Hey, Great Post NedK..thumbs up

"Endured rehab" Makes it sound like he managed to not get sober.

Indeed. Going to rehab is usually a 'brave' or 'emotional' event. Endure? I have had to 'endure' some bad concerts, some bad meals, so bad seminars...maybe 'endure' is just a bad word choice (I hope). Rehab can help people, but generally just those who want to be there and crave help, and are willing to give themselves to the process. Taylor seems like a guy who gave into many demons for many years...not with lots of headlines, but but some addicts are better at not being public with their issues...alcohol, drugs, prescribed meds or all 3. I wish him well and hope he meets his goals for life....

(fortunately) this is incorrect : Taylor was a bit drunk that night, and he started the gig with a long disjointed speech.
