The guest should try to adapt to the host's context.

Was curious about others' feedback... I guess I prefer dynamics in music and performance.

No, it was great stuff.

If he'd done that on Wild Horses he should be slapped though.

He brought a smile to my face - the interplay between he and Jagger was wonderful. Too bad there isn't more of that sort of action between Mick and Keith.

They invite guests because of who they are and the way they play/sing. Why then ask them to adapt and not be themselves?

That's a good comment on mixing music styles. In this case I like it a lot, it definately rocked harder than usual. The same could be said when AC/DC did Rock Me Baby, the energy was great. Thinking back on the SNL performance of iorr with Grohl I must say I enjoyed that version more than any Stones version, since maybe the 70's.

I think they should have had an Elvis impersonator guest on a song in Vegas, instead of Katy Fuggin Perry.

I just had to say Katy Fuggin Perry one more time. Oh, there I go again.

overall he was good, there's one point where his solo goes on too long and doesn't fit the Stone's style.

There was that point near the end and you see the bemused look on Keith's face.

I think that's alright though, you invite a guest and they put their stamp on it. I couldn't handle a whole show like that but it was a brief aberration.

he should have pretended to be lost during most of the song?

(kinda reminds of the chevy chase sketches when he played gerald ford and everytime he fell down, all his aides did too so it didn't seem so abnormal)....

Artificial headbanging from Grohl, but he did shake them up a bit, and they did a good version, imo.

I'd cut him some slack...must be tough to insert yourself at a stones concert for 4 minutes, be relevant and not embarrass yourself.

All you gotta do is dress nice and let Jagger dry hump your leg...what's tough about that?

Keith would smack him in the head. You'd get actual head banging.

Not over the top at all, to me. Grohl upped the energy and rocked out. Its called having passion for the music and letting it show. Bitch was one of the highlights of a very good show, I thought. It'll probably end up being my favorite sit in of the tour, unless they do something very surprising later on.

I'm a fan of Grohl and most of his musical efforts but his guestspot with the Stones didn't impress me (just like most of the other guestperformers on this tour). He brought some energy to the stage but his guitarplaying and singing wasn't exactly stellar. The Stones don't need guest performers to spice up their show. Then again the extra media attention might help to sell a few more tickets.
