Happy Birthday Mr. Winwood!
By revealing my age I remember a poll some music-mag did back in the mid 60ies.
Something like "... build your Supergroup" Result was:

Vocals: Stevie Winwood (Yep, he was young Stevie back then)
Guitar: George Harrison
Bass: John Entwistle
Organ: Graham Bond
Drums: Keith Moon

My gawd, those were the days. :-)

Worked at his house once and him and his missus were lovely people.

I was a BT engineer installing phone lines, and he had Jim Capaldi and the other guys in Traffic rehearsing in the stables/studios area for upcoming North America tour back in the early '90's probably.

Didn't know it was his place until I saw a platinum record in the bog while having a pee. eye popping smiley

Happy birthday Steve. smileys with beer

saw him about 4 years ago opening for Tom PEtty and he stole the show. I thought iI was gonna see him do his cheesy hits songes from 80s and 90s but instead got a funk driven jam band peforming classic Blind Faith and Traffic songs. So we saw him in Ct at a small theatre about a year after, same thing. then we saw him last june in Bostn, same things...funk jammed out Traffic and Blind Faith. totally recommend seeing him!!!

Hi CD,

Best line on IORR for a while, hah-hah!
Echoing all the Steve-love above...looking forward to seeing him in June. A class performer and it is difficult to think of a more talented fellow.

Cheers,

Simon.
