Some things must happen, then you know, how you feel? I don't know, how I would feel, but I would be extreme happy, that I had the pleasure for seeing them 12x live in concert.

The Rolling Stones continue till Mick or Keith dies. Charlie is like Bill was, not an orginal member of the band. So I can imagine, that they continue without Charlie.

I hope they would definitely stop without Charlie !

Without Mick J., Keith or Charlie, I'm pretty sure that they would NOT call it The Rolling Stones.

Not sure what you mean"it's over," I assume you mean that the touring is over.

The Stones will never make such an announcement. There's absolutely no reason to.

The Stones as an entity are a coninuing business, releasing stuff from the archives, etc. Why would they announce anything is "over," why would they announce they are not going to tour? What possible reason would they do that?

Personally I doubt they will play together after these shows. But they will never make such an announcement.

Your logic is very good. Saying they are finished will hurt sales of CDs, downloads, DVDs etc. If for no other reason, they will never announce they are done.

It's already over !
When people later will talk about the Rolling Stones , there will be two answers
the Greatest rock'n'roll Band ever, and also the way they spoiled their legend with their last Tour with one thing in mind only, money, that's somewhere sad indeed but face it for once...

If any one of the four calls it a day, they would carry on,with the exception of Mick quitting.

Let's face it,he isn't gonna call it a day without the whole band wanting to say goodbye.
As long as he has the energy to do what he does best,The Stones will be around.
Maybe the odd half dozen shows now and again maybe.
After this tour they may think it best retire in their older years.
Who knows?

If one of them passes away, that will be it.
No more tours by The Rolling Stones.
Quite understandable in my opinion,at this stage of their careers.
50+ years as the best band ever,is a great achievement. smoking smiley

Im pleased there doing this tour, and when i see them in hyde park on the
13th july, i be saying thank you and goodbye.
I don't see them doing much more after this tour, and i don't think they will announce there retirement, but just drift off into the sunset.
But you never know with this group.

Very talented lady but I like that song the way it was.

Think I will do my OWN ALBUM...with all special guest stars.

They are so old, we are almost as old. This whole event has been like a time machine journey. Whatever happens after this tour we've all had fun, for me this is the last time I'll worry about setlists and a band's inner dynamics. 50 plus has brought it all back to me.

I don't think it will end like that...this tour will end and there will be no official statement to say that's the end. THey will all drift back to what they do. If Keith's health stays in a good enough shape, then I would expect them to get together within acouple of years for some kind of show or mini, mini tour. THis will continue until a death. Even then I wouldn't be surprised if they played again as long as it wasn't Jagger who pegged it. I feel that they have already considered life without Keith...maybe Taylor and Wood...maybe an outsider. I just don;t see them saying , 'that's the end of the Rolling Stones until Mr Jagger is incapable of doing a show.

I fear that this might be the case, cause without Keith - it would never be the real Stones, it would be a disaster. It was hard to imagine Stones without Wyman, It's impossible to even think of Stones without Keith or Charlie. I would be dissapointed if The Stones didnt record one more studio album. I kinda hope that they would stop touring when the health starts to fail them, cause working in studio is not as hard as performing a long concert or traveling. You can always have break in the studio if you run out of ideas, feel tired. Making an albums in the studio can be a slow and peacefull long term projects. It's the opposite of energy needing tours and gigs.

Then I would say Thank You Very Much Guys for the great 50 years of joy.................I wouldn't be sad...(maybe sad for the youngsters who just started to be a fan and want to see them live for the first time)

I don't think they will do a tour when they reach their 75's but you'll never know with the Stones grinning smiley but announced after this tour to stop no way........

Perfect way of summing things up, I agree 100%

I will feel let down.

-Bill should've been a part of this
-the false-advertising of Taylor's role on this tour....
-One, maybe two songs a show only for Taylor.
-A bunch of ridiculous guests
-over-priced tickets
-mostly a greatest hits show

Basically I'm left with just a lot of could've/should've feelings about the "greatest rock n roll band"

Absolutely not the way this band should go out.

I could easily see Mick upholding the Stones legacy by touring with Waddy, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Ronnie, Darryl Jones, Chuck Leavell and some others. And producing a good Stones sound and atmosphere. Any of the guitar guys could play bass so you can leave out Darryl if you want to save money. First tour destination would be Japan same as last time. Then on to New Zealand, Australia, Argentina and Brazil. After this test and warmup they head to Europe and America.

The ones who would not be able to make it would be Keith and Charlie. Charlie's health is good but playing drums is the most physically demanding job up on stage. But if they are paid a few million for allowing Mick to tour under the name "Rollling Stones" they will be OK with that. Money changes everything.

After reading this I'm absolutely certain you are completely unclear about what the Stones 'legacy' is or should be...

triceratops - have you ever heard the music of the Rolling Stones?

To say that Steve Vai or Satriani...both worst of the god awful heavy metal guitar players who lack style, talent, brains and understanding of the blues and sound like shit.... they could never be in the Stones ..I wonder, have you ever heard the Stones. The Rolling Stones is rock band, you know. Satriani and Steve Vai are not rock n roll musicians -they dont know how to play their instruments to be labelled as rock n rollers, they sound worse than sexually molested goats. I would rather live in Guantanamo Bay than to listen to them play guitars.

Don't expect any retirement announcement. They are just playing too damn good at the moment and the engine is just getting warmed up. Can't wait for tomorrow because they get better every day! Amazing isn't it!

A huge underachievement.

A band that lived off their GREATEST HITS, and conned most of the people into believing that those are the only songs fans would want to hear live.

Childish behavior between Mick and Keith for 30 years.

A band that could not play any album in its entirety.

The Greatest Rock N Roll band in the world for 20 years and after 1982 could not live up to that title.

They won't quit till they drop dead. They can still continue to make records together.

The Rolling Stones without Mick Jagger is instantly finished. Same without Keith. Charlie could be replaced but that wouldn't happen unless he had a son who also played drums.

The Rolling Stones will continue long after the members have passed away. Look at Jimi Hendrix. With an end to the Stones one day, also it will mark the end for grand scale music tours by real musicians except for McCartney. The future will be interesting.

Maybe when they call it quits, and we are gone and they are seen through history's lens, World's Greatest Rock & Roll Band' will only be a small part of what they're remembered for. Some of their greatest music wasn't rock and roll at all. Most of their latter day music will be discarded as weakly derivative of material produced pre-Voodoo Lounge. Perhaps they will be remembered for one half of their career producing great music, while the second half was playing that music for people around the world.

The best music the Stones have produced in the past 20 years are burnished older tracks from the 1970s. This excavation of the good years will continue. Few will care about unreleased tracks from 1994 onward. Personally I will be sad when they finally split, but I know this has gone on far longer than anyone dared hope. They are in a stratosphere of their own. Dylan may be the more signification artist, producing estimable work to this day, but no one can attract the audiences the Stones still can draw.

Hey that is an objective opinion. But that is the way I see it. I still like and listen to them but no need to sugar coat it.

Besides, if they have the nerve to charge $600 a ticket then I have the right as a fan to call it for what it is. Let me ask you this, do you agree with what I said? Really deep down, can you say I'm wrong about it all?

Most importantly, IORR gives me the wonderful pleasure of chatting with you!
