Vegas guests

Any interesting rumors out there about guests in Vegas? I see BB King isn't on the road that weekend & he lives in Vegas. I could get into that in a big way. Carlos Santana is in town @ House of Blues. Don't know how much I'd enjoy that. I'm going to float something here that will never happen. Elton John is playing @ Caesar's. I know about past "difficulties" with him & Keith but I'm pretty sure he could play a mean piano on "Loving Cup"! Just a whimsical thought during happy hour here on the west coast. Don't be mad!smoking smiley

Doubt you'll see Elton.

He was in the original fan video and he was pulled from the current version...there must have been a reason for that.

Like I said, it was just a thought. Although I don't much care for his schmaltzy stuff, he is a hell of a piano player.

I did read that Elton and Keith didn't exactly get along.

Ya. There were some pretty humorous exchanges. "songs about dead blonde chicks" & "shriveled old monkey" were some of the highlites. haha. To tell the truth, I'd rather have no guests & more songs with Mick Taylor instead. On youtube, I liked the Tom Waits spot & didn't mind Keith Urban. Gwen Stefani looked good but was out of her element.

Mr. Las Vegas himself, Wayne Newton.

She would at least do a professional and inspired performance, not like Ga Ga, Gwen or Mary J. She and Elton are more the level of performer that they themselves are. You know Dr. John, Leon Russell, Bruce Hornsby, why never a guest keyboard? Oh yeah they're too cheap to bring and tune a piano. I love Mick but he has the musical taste of a 12 year old girl.

Someone floated Tom Jones on this site. I'd be down with that! I've seen him down there a few times. Think its been awhile though. Still has "the Voice"!

Yeah, Tom Jones sings "Angie."

The no piano thing might have something to do with Stu. I was lucky enough to see him play a few times with the band.

Carlos on stage with Keith would be real good.

The wailing tiger duetting with the tiny todger?

I don't think Mick would be down with that idea, so, no, it won't happen.

Maybe they could do a nice blues. If memory serves, there's some history with Carlos & Mick Taylor too. As long as he leaves the bongo army at House of Blues!winking smiley

They'd probably let Carlos play on Can't You Hear Me Knockin' while forcing Mick T to sit on the sidelines.

Really enjoy Dead Flowers, especially the live version, maybe on this tour with Willie Nelson.

From your keyboard to God's ear.... way better guitar player.

If Willie were there, Keith might forget how to play Brown Sugar!

I love Carlos too, but not at the expense of excluding Mick Taylor from playing on this masterpiece.

It's bad enough they make MT sit out while they're playing All Down The Line,
so the above scenario of Carlos/CYHMK sans MT is unfortunately quite possible.

It can't be Tom Jones, as he plays at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA that same night.

Please I'd rather not think about this... I read somewhere else Taylor's being called the "tour mascot."

How about a Cirque de Soleil style stones show, like the Beatles LOVE?

That would be good!!!

Carlos has a show that night but it's just a ways down the street and it might
be over early enough.

(Please no Celine.)
