I have a friend who works for Eagle Rock who told me a couple of years ago that they had signed a long term deal with the Stones to release two shows a year... these are the ones he mentioned that jump out at me the most, in no particular order...a three or four DVD set of the Stripped concerts in London, Paris and Amsterdam...the 1999 San Jose No Security U.S. tour finale, originally scheduled to be shown on Showtime but withdrawn...Shepherd's Bush '99 with some excellent rarities...the Licks tour theater shows...he swore up and down that they have an excellent print of the LA Friday '75 show...I don't know about you but the possibilities make my head spin!winking smiley

Being at The Enmore Theatre show in Sydney on Licks tour I can confirm there was a pro film crew taking it all in. THAT for me would be the Holy Grail!

What about a complete 1970 show from the European tour? Huntley Archives claim to have over 2 hours of pro shot material including backstage footage.

2 hours without sound will be kinda dull, though.

Ahhh 4 Stones on the cover of the dvd, no Bill.
A pitty he played a really really great show

That's the real poster from a few shows of the tour, I've got Detroit hanging over the bar in my house. Always dug the MJ silhouette/w the lips.

The 4 Stones are Keith, Ron, Bill and Charlie, adding to the big pic of Mick, right?

Just watched this, great show but what happened to Going to a Go Go and 20 Flight rock, surely they were played at Hampton, are they going to be left off and included as extras because I hate it when they do that.

You watched it prior to its release??

Or did you watch the incomplete Music Vault (Wolfgang's Vault)-footage?

From The Vault – Hampton Coliseum – Live In 1981 (Blu-ray/DVD)

Release: 03 November 2014

From The Vault” is a new series of live concerts from The Rolling Stones archive which are getting their first official release. “Hampton Coliseum – Live In 1981” is the first title in this series. The Rolling Stones American Tour in 1981 was the most successful tour of that year taking a then record $50 million dollars in ticket sales. The tour was in support of the critically and commercially successful “Tattoo You” album. There were fifty dates on the tour which ran from Philadelphia at the end of September through to Hampton, Virginia on the 18th and 19th of December. The show on December 18th, which was also Keith Richards’ birthday, was the first ever music concert to be broadcast on television as a pay-per-view event. The footage has now been carefully restored and the sound has been newly mixed by Bob Clearmountain for this first official release of the show.

That's interesting but are you sure they're official 'official' because the info is wrong - the date is wrong on the Mick Jagger solo show and it's nowhere near a full concert...........the actual shows were 2hrs 15mns or so...(as I'm sure you know.....

I really wonder what shows were filmed in the 70s and which they could release. Don't think there's too much to choose from... At least it will be stuff again we all know for ages!

Me I'm so grateful that I can get a official release and nearly 100 0/0 per cent reduction of a perfect running DVD.
And just in case anybody says anything,as always I do really appreciate people from this site who have generously supplied me with DVD copies over the years,as the number of times I have watched and enjoyed watching is unmeasured to me.
Happy days.

There were no cameras there. And Keef looked like a corpse so using any visual elements from that show for a future release is a no-no! >grinning smiley<

A video of Wild Horses from Knebworth was officially released by iTunes a few years ago.

PARADISO 1995... must be a serious contender! It was filmed professionaly and some songs were released for TV clips etc. in great quality. The second show was shown direct to a great crowd in Amsterdam on a screen (some 30.000 people!). Maybe next year to celebrate a 20 year anniversary would be nice (not only because I was at the first show but also because they played a few nice suprises). I think this release would sell really well.

Yeah but this one's f'cking tricky! The best thing would be BOTH shows uncut. That logically means never releasing Brixton or Paris. Fans like would feel cheated then...

Wrong, there were not 30.000 people, but about 80.000 people at the museumplein in Amsterdam. I was there and it was great. drinking, dancing, smoking at a free Stones show.It was awesome !!
