Aren't you all highfalutin!

Please God, hear our prayers and bless all fans with numerous previously-unseen tour films and rarities from the band's vaults. We know there is an embarrassment of riches in there Lord, so provide Eagle Rock with the enduring strength and clear-headedness to prevail in the face of misguided requests for the Voodoo Lounge stuff, which we all know sucks.

Ha-ha, good one Father Ted. The cynical side of me thinks we will see only re-issues, while the optimistic side hopes for something great and rare. Which side will win? Hmm.....

There are good things about that tour. The little acoustic set in the middle of every concert was real nice.

But I think The Bridges To Babylon tour was superior in every way, more distorted guitars, Mick was singing better and they were overall more tight and played with more energy than on the Voodoo Lounge-tour. I would really like them to release an uncirculated proshot from 1997-1997, but no VL-tour proshots please, except maybe for the european club gigs in 1995.

I seem to be the only one who enjoys Tokyo '95. That said, it should not be the one to be released. For me, the most important gigs to release onto DVD and Bluray are:
The '95 club shows.
Sheperds Bush Empire '99.
Any Licks Tour club show (preferably Roseland Ballroom '02).
The Phoenix Club gig '05.
L.A. Forum '75.
Marquee Club '71.
A complete stadium show from North America 1989. With the big stage and all the bells and whistles. Live at the Max is a piss poor representative of the SW Tour.
I'd also love a complete Altamont concert. Maysels Films said they have it in stock.
The '68 NME Poll Winners mini gig.

Most important one is the '95 club shows though.

Disagree. I'd take the VL Tour over the B2B tour any day of the week. They were good on B2B. Keith was awesome. But on the VL tour they sounded more like a unity. And at times like a suped up jet engine.

smileys with beer Yes Paradiso, Amsterdam, 1995. Two shows with great surprises:
SHINE A LIGHT (first time it was performed live ever)
LIKE A ROLLING STONE (first time it was performed live)
SPIDER AND THE FLY (first time again since a long time played live, with a different line : .... "she looked about 50" instead of 30 in 1965...thumbs up)
GIMME SHELTER (some say the best ever...)
JUMP ON TOP OF ME (the only live performance ever)
DOWN IN THE BOTTOM (Yep!)
STILL A FOOL (Yep!)
RESPECTABLE (Last encore second show!)
CONNECTION (Mick and Keith vocals together! First show only)
All the other great songs....Am I forgetting something?

Yes I was forgetting CAN'T GET NEXT TO YOU (second show only). Had to look it up at www.nzentgraf.nl

ok JFK
if Tokyo'95 is produced as a bluray, I won't spite on it
if it's a DVD, i don't think I will buy it.

Although I'm not that big a fan of the post-Wyman era, I'll still take VL over BTB. Darryl crapping all over the stage, trying to do Anybody Seen My Baby, is not a good memory. The B-stage was good for BTB. I think that's why I loved the No Security tour so much is that is was so refreshing after the fooball stadium tours of 89, 94, and 97 (in the States).

What's damning a potential VL tour release is the best gigs (apart from the 4 club-shows) were played in... (ta-da) Australia and NZ. For some reason THESE gigs were the best of the tour. The band sounded amazing.
But I have no doubt the Stones didn't film them or pro-recorded them... which is a crying shame.

If they're going to lean towards newer stuff, let's go with the Echoplex show from last year. We know Eagle Rock has it, and it hasn't already leaked out from other sources.

Didn't they have some trouble on a couple of numbers there? Would be cool if they released it anyway.

If it really is five concerts my guess is....

Hampton 81
LA 75
Tokyo 90
Toronto 05
Leeds 82

In that order

It is, though I'd prefer a stadium show from that tour. Live at the Max is pretty lackluster and while Atlantic City would be a great improvement, I'd rather see that enormous stage design working 'cause I never have.

It's indeed a very very good show, and the extra guests give it an edge over Tokyo'90. Bring it on Blu-Ray! thumbs up
