The footage has now been carefully restored and the sound has been newly mixed by Bob Clearmountain for this first official release of the show.

At last !!

Sweet!

Happy to hear about this release not only to be able to purchase it (I don't have a bootleg) but also because it leads me to believe that the "opening of the vaults" is continuing. After the run of Google Music releases ended with no signs of additional things to come, I began to think we might not see much more. Even if the releases come more slowly than the polar ice caps melting, at least they're apparently still coming! Good news to my brain!

Peace,
Mr DJA

I have a very good bootleg with great sound, but I'll still buy this. It's worth it for Bill's bass on Black Limousine. I wouldn't expect any extras, though there were two Hampton concerts, and a lot of the tour was filmed.

I was at both Hampton concerts. The second one was identical in set list but the band was less intense and pretty much going through the motions. Lots of goofing around like tossing around and wearing a Santa Claus hat during the show. The end of tour party was the night before (I snuck in - covered in a different thread and Bill German's book as the Keith's birthday cake story) and they all jumped on planes to join families for the holidays as soon as the show ended.

I can't wait to have a restored Blu-ray version of one of the best shows I ever attended.

HBK

That's the real poster from a few shows of the tour, I've got Detroit hanging over the bar in my house. Always dug the MJ silhouette/w the lips.

“From The Vault” is a new series of live concerts from The Rolling Stones archive which are getting their first official release. “Hampton Coliseum – Live In 1981” is the first title in this series.

Awesome! Hope the rest will include some cool stuff from the '63-'73 time frame (especially '67-'73) and not just a dozen shows from the Ronnie Wood era.

So true. I saw LSTNT in a theater after it came out and it was a big disappointment (jarring cut-away shots, edited songs, etc.)

Plus most of the music was sped-up... confused smiley

Great news.

I have a copy, but an official one will cut out the 'freezing ' I experience on the copies I have.

Thanks so much, can't wait.hot smiley

Good news indeed! Especially the line "new series of live concerts". 3 of them we already know...LA friday '75 video footage, Atlantic City '89 and Brixton '95.

Hopefully we get the Marquee '71 with remixed stereo sound, the Philly '72 footage and the London '73 footage shot by the BBC.

*MAYBE* the complete Altamont footage...

The Bill Graham estate doesn't have the rights to all those shows.

The forthcoming Blu-ray/DVD is being released by Eagle Rock. Perhaps they have rights to some of those shows mentioned.

Nobody said anything about those shows. So far it's Hampton. The rest lied in the cards. We can hope though.

Atlantic City 89
Tokyo 90
Brixton, Olympia and Paradiso 95
Phoenix Club gig 05
Leeds 82
Seattle 81
Paris 76
Tokyo 95
There's Argentinian and Brazillian shows floating around too.

There's tonnes of possibilities. Mostly from the Woody years though.

Mick's voice was no longer Jagger like by 81. Hampton 81 was nothing special. Much better sounding boots from that tour.
