Yes, exactly. Probably one of the few authentic moments in the show. In contrast Jagger's "blues" voice sounds thin and sterile. These shows are a big disappointment. I am not surprised, but disappointed nonetheless. It is business as usual as it has been for decades. The band is like Linus. Just can't let go of the safety blanket, the easy comfort zone. The band is legendary, but not very good or creative. A missed opportunity. Playing Wild Horses without Taylor on stage, but in the house, is a crime. He opens up many opportunities, but why bother with a formula?

Burdon is amazing, and his work with War is absolutely brilliant. I also love Winds of Change and the post 1966 Animals, too.

Although I think Little Red Rooster didn´t leave enough "space" for Tom Waits - this must have been a VERY SPECIAL experience for all who have been to this show.

I'd be as unenthused to see Tom Waits as I would to see Dave Stewart. Spare me these particular Glimmer Twins' solo pals.

I think this is by far the best guest appearance on a Stones show since Bo Diddley in 1994 or Solomon Burke in 2002. No Expectations would also have sounded great with Waits. Hope they keep on bringing up real musicians and no more crappy celebrity rockers like Keith "Shopping Radio" Urban...Gary Clarke Jr. was a good choice, too.

Nothing wrong with Tom Jones. He's a great singer. He used to duet with rock and roll artists when he hosted his own show awhile back.

I think you're probably of a different mindset to me, but I do agree that to mention Solomon Burke and Bo Diddley in the same category as TW is sacrilege.

To me, TW is the finest American musician ever based on songwriting. Better than Dylan or anyone else. In terms of performance, I rate him even higher than that, though I know his voice isn't for everyone.

But, in terms of actual musical output, though I love both Bo and Burke, they are in no way comparable to Tom who has been putting out consistently fantastic and sometimes transcendant music since 1973.

I usually do not like guests. But, my opinion changed last night. Tom Waits was an awesome addition to the show.

Tom Waits is so original, he has always been special the few times I have seen him. I loved his theatrical performances during the late 70's and early 80's. A big fan.

Let me say something nice. Compared to Kid Rock, Tom Waits is my God!

Tom Jones in Las Vegas! That might throw the universe into total disorder!
