What an underrated song it is!!!

Great riff, and great feeling:

It should work very well in a live performance!

Yes, I think so too.

The Stones hadn't quite lost it yet in the songwriting department yet with this one, but as someone mentioned above it's nothing more than a rehash of the Soul Survivor riff.

The beginning of the end I'd say.

With that said, I wish they would write something similar to this these days, there hasn't been anything quite like this in over 20 years.

We're free to worship, we're free to speak
We're free to kill, that's guaranteed
We got our problems, that's for sure
Clean up the backyard, don't lock the door

Must be hell living in the world
Suffering in the world like you
Must be hell living in the world
Suffering in the world like you

And the guitar during the verses are similar to Honky Tonk women......

Rock And A Hard Place Pt. 3 (the riff)

M. Jackson (the one without a nose) covered the riff on his Black and White)
the same goes with Lou Reed´s Dirty Blvd.

Lou Reed wrote his song hich is very different in style, in '88,'89 but jackson, yes, he stole the riff or did a (his guitarist) typical Stones riff.

Music is all about stealing. Ask Keith.

Hey Hairball, you wrote:

Didn't ya hear? That's what Don Was and Cohl said the boys were doing, writing like they did in the early years, that's what this new Studio Album is all about, back to the basics, and comraderie. See?

Ye gads, a pile of bricks would have to land on ya all....to get it!

Well of course they are going to hype
it like this. Let's hope this time
it is. One suspects if they still
got their wits and acumen about them
it will be. Long live the Stones!

Heh, the logic of stealing in music: if you steal from yourself you are repeating yourself; if you steal from others, you are a genious.

About the lyrics of "Must Be Hell": one of the most failed ones Mick has ever written. Total lack of credibility and taste.

1. Great song.

2. It was not the begining of the end re songwriting for them - and if you believe it was shut your cakehole and write something better.

3. Slash ripped nothing off from SS,IMBH or RAAHP - Jackson's song has a different guitar pattern altogether - not to mention it's a brilliant song in its own rite.

4. I'd sooner jump into the grand canyon than visit it with Demon.

5. Long live Davido his "long live the Stones". You are now a Prince among men.

Have you ever lent somebody $20 and never seen them again? It was probably worth it.
