The 8-track does have different versions. I believe there is a CD version out there, that contains some other miscellaneous rarities. Search for a thread titled "Laid in the Shade" from December/January. There was some disagreement as to what tracks were different, but I think we sorted it all out.

I worked very hard to clean up the remaining signal and enhance the differing songs from a couple old "Some Girls" 8Ts. Christ, it was like film restoration or something.
Anyway, "Miss You" is longer and has no sax solo. Beast Of Burden is also longer and contains an extra verse as I recall. "Shattered" is shorter and is the same version found on the promo 45rpm.
The only other "Some Girls" varient is the promo version of before they make me run which is markedly different from the album version.
Isn't the lead guitar part thru MISS YOU different as well? I have a friend who swears that is the case. She remembers it from when she had the 8-track years and years ago.
I absolutely burned my 8 Track tape of this album up. Seriously, I did. I died right inside my portable 8 Track player that I used to think was so cool. The shortened version of Shattered is not worth looking for, believe me.
