This is another classic song that has been very much neglected. Listening to the early version Get A Line On You the quality of this soul/gospel song really does shine through. It's the type of song i feel the Stones could always make a success of playing - it was included on Stripped but apart from that it has been very much neglected for over thirty years . I don't think it's a particuarly hard song to play and also the backing vocals of Bernard and Lisa would also be more welcoming on this song. Maybe the Stones should consider Shine A Light for the next tour.
Let's not start this Taylor/Wood crap again It's a good song, period. Great keyboards! That;s what really drives the song are the keyboards and the back up vocals
MLC, I agree about the guitar solos, they are some of the best studio solos Mick Taylor recorded. I simply saying the keyboards really bring this song to it's hights.

Yeah, because the rehearsals sounded promissing enough. Too bad the trucks / cars / mopeds and other surrounding sounds screw up these recordings..... Still you can hear some nice Taylor guitar work!
I will add "Loving Cup", "Let It Loose" and "Torn and Frayed" to the want list of songs for the 2005 tour. At least one of these should be rehearsed. After hearing MJ on "That's How Strong..." I think he could pull off "Let it Loose", which has never been done live, AFAIK. This song has such a great reliance on backing vocals and horns, I think it would be perfect for the present lineup. "Shine A Light " is great, too, but Jagger lets it all go on "Let It Loose"--"let it loose, let it come on down"--I'd love to hear this.
I'd love to hear Let It Loose live too but i am very doubtful these days Mick could pull it off. I've not heard him sing with such raw energy for a very long time ans i fail to see the comparison with That's How Strong My Love Is. Let It Loose is a real epic stax influenced soul song which requies Mick to really stretch his voice and hold the notes. It shouldn't be attemped unless he is sure he could pull it off. It the one song that really requires a first class vocal - anything less would prove very embarrassing.
