Opening Acts At Altamont

I alway's thought that the only opening acts at Altamont, (because that's what the movie Gimme Shelter shows), were The Flying Burrito Brothers, and, The Jefferson Airplane. But, according to the link, (Timeisonourside), supplied by Rockman; Santana, and, Crosby, Stills, Nash, and, Young were also there?

Also from that same link showing other opening acts throughout the Stones career there are several "New Music Express Poll Winner" concerts where it lists The Beatles as an opening act, is that true? (I hope so! lol). Did The Rolling Stones beat The Beatles, (no pun,....), in the polls for those years? (YES!) Rockman, maybe you, or, someone else can help me out there.

I ain't stupid, I'm just guitarded.

I also heard of other live acts, including Gram Parsons and Santana.
It is said that the whole stuff has been filmed, but neverb released.

Maybe a problem of rights and record companies, as usual...

All of the opening act performances are on the bootleg "Altamont 69". Great sets by Santana and The Flying Burrito Brothers.

I don't know which label. I received the show in a trade with no information (CDR). The sound is fair audience with some problems with the dynamics.

The Beatles and the Stones were both on the bill at the NME Pollwinners Concert in '66. There were two main 'sets'. The Stones closed the first half of the show, the Beatles the second half.

Below is the text file from a torrent that was up at (the now closed) everydayjones torrent site. There is no label info on either of the artwork scans enclosed:

Altamont Festival (Various Artists) 1969-12-06 - 2 cds - Audience - Altamont Raceway, California - Flac
aud --> cdr --> eac secure mode --> flac
793 megs

Two versions of the artwork are included. More on this show at [www.woodstockproject.com]

This is "that violent rock festival" you heard about. Now listen to the music. Santana has been quoted as saying
that while Woodstock got all the publicity, he preferred the music of Altamont. I really think these rock festivals
are pieces of history. That's why I started "The Woodstock Project" site.
