He seems no more out of it than the average audience member at any one his concerts.

Shoulder injury? From working out at the gym?

It was more like he could no longer shoulder the burden. Exercise makes you fit and alert, but he looked feeble and inebriated.

There's something more to it that Lesh did not tell the audience.

Phil has posted at IORR before. Maybe he will add a comment about the incident.

Poor guy. I saw him warm up with The Black Crowes a several years back and he could barely sing and play. Might be time for him to retire.

If I was 65 and had been working for the same company since I was 17 I'd want to retire, too.

Just last month Bob was full of spit and vinegar.

Weir remains an active and vital musician. The voice may be gone a lot of nights now, but he doesn't need weeks of rehearsal to bash through a war horse setlist. He mixes it up every night, sometimes with disastrous results, but still takes chances. I recognize that the GD isn't to everyone's taste, their loss.

Did he ever have a voice?

I wonder if he will be ok to play tomorrow nights show in Atlantic City. I planned on buying a ticket outside of Boardwalk Hall. Last time I saw Furthur in Asbury Park the entire venue was completely filled with smoke, the good kind. The place reeked! Bob Wier has always had a pretty good voice but he plays a lot of shows and traveling takes its wear and tear on the body. He's been doing it since he was in his teens. Drugs and alcohol have taken a toll too. I hope Bobby is OK!

Live I put Jagger and Weir in the same category. Breathy, somewhat flat, shout-singing. Weir does it while playing more chords than Keith has wrinkles in his face. I love both bands, flaws and all.

It's sad to watch as the band played on, but to me it looks like signs of an early stroke in how he is leaning and falling to his left. They should of got medical attention right away, time is of the essence.

Nah, looks more like a classic case of DFL (Dope Fiend Lean).

I was 2 rows back and saw him go down, he looked Shattered and i was actually impressed that he lasted as long as he did that night. He looked VERY DOPE HIGH and in drastic need of some rest and rehab. Get well soon Bobby!

Bob Weir looks just like the dude that lives under a bridge and panhandles for cash to buy booze around the corner from my office.

I sincerely hope he's Ok. I was never a Dead fan, but liked a few of Bob's contributions - you could tell he appreciated rock n roll.

I have only been bored enough to leave 2 concerts ever: Bob Dylan on his Saved Tour (his voice was so bad, and the arrangements were so different, he lost me) and the GD the night before seeing the Stones in Buffalo in 81. They were easily the worst band I ever saw live. Out of tune, off key, 'jamming' that was so disjointed it sounded more like tuning up during a sound check....but the trippy crowd seemed to love it...

I think you've summed up the mystery to the very few people like us who don't get the appeal of the Dead. Whatever their admirers are hearing must go in their ears, swirl around and go threw some magic filter that blends those sour milk harmonies into ear candy. I know people that still go to Furthur concerts. God love 'em.

And dude, why is it you have to keep telling everyone this, in every thread, I mean really dude why? We get it, you don't like them.
