Since the tour has been everything but announced, what are your thoughts on the opening Number. They always seem to surprise us. SFM in 02 Statisfaction in 97 Not Fade away in 94. and who can forget UMT in 81, just rippin.
If i had a choice it would be paint it black, i think that would just f'ing blow the roof off the place. With a solo spotlight on keith. After the mesure of the drums, a huge explosion and mick and ronnie hit the stage. ohhhhh man.....

HTW is just to slow for an opener, We Love you to obscure and I don't think Jagger would give a "sixties/flower power" song such a important place in the setlist.

Paint it, black would be a killer and so would be Sympathy. I would like to see Midnight Rambler (with Mick's harp in the intro) as the opener for the new tour, wont't happen though...

paint it black would be the best...then under my thumb, connection, with keith singing lead, had it with you, hang fire, then slow it down with melody, sweet virginia, you got the silver...then some new songs...... then start me up, iorr,
respectable, star star, you fill in the rest...!

I think HTW would work in arenas if it was played at the original tempo, or sympathy in the large stadiums with crazy lights, video effects, the usual african drumming intro with loadsa smoke etc and then the sound transforms into the sympathy percussion intro ??

I agree with you wuudy. Midnight Rambler or Sympathy for the devil.
Maybe rambler fits best as an opener in smaller venues, like clubs and theatres.
But to open a huge stadiumshow with sympathy in the dark, oh man that is a dream...
