Did you notice that? Keith hitting Ronnie on stage?

I was watching the DVD Nippon Voodoo yesterday and spotted something I had never noticed before. During "Rocks off" (just before Mick sings the low part) Keith and Darryl stand together obviously having a laugh about something when Ronnie joins them from behind to take part in the craic. Keith didn't notice him as he was working his guitar and when Ronnie stood right behind him he (Keith) suddenly did one of his arm moves and smacked Ronnie right in his face. It's fun to watch their reactions after this "accident". You should watch the whole scene in slow motion. It's really funny. Anyone else seen that before?

somewhere i read that keith hitted ronnie in the face during their concert in london 82, because ronnie laughed about keith's awful intro on she's so cold.
now i got the (she's so cool)-dvd but unfortunately there's only jagger shown during this intro. is that story true and is there a video/dvd out?

When I saw the Stones in Boston, during the Licks tour, at the show where Ron stopped playing after about 70 minutes (utterly unlike the fine performance 2 nights earlier - I assume he was high)Mick clearly hit - punched or shoved him hard in the shoulder. It was not a playful shove.

Which tour in Boston did Jagger hit Ronnie?

Mick yelled at Chuck a few times on the Licks tour, looked like Chuck "missed certain, pre-determined notes," during a song. Mick was very upset with him.
Also, Mick has yelled at Chuck, about the energy in his piano playing.

No, Keith hit Ronnie as Ron was stoned out of his mind on stage, as Wood was still a crack addict in 1982. Check Wood's white sweaty face and angst ridden eyes on the video, really scary.

That Wembley 'incident' is a myth. It didnt happen.

no one knows for sure whether it happened. As far as I know the incident was written down by a journalist, and ever since it is taken as true. All you see on the video is the intro getting @#$%& up, and Wyman and Mick looking in the direction of Keith and Ron. Anybody heard of a private film of the gig?

It's most likely true, because more sources confirm this story. Mick didn't go flying over the tables but Charlie did punch him.... "I'm not your drummer, you're my @#$%&' singer!"

About Amsterdam accident.. I remember both Charlie and Mick denying it.. But maybe they just try to be gentlemanlike and don't want to wash their dirty laundry in public... But Keith is never the one who is willing the facts to ruin a good story... Like Muddy painting a ceiling..

Nick Kent wrote it (which says it all) and Bockris and various other biographers basically "copied and pasted" it. Woody's demeanour at the beginning of that song and during it is not that of someone who's just been on the receiving end of an unexpected right hook to the kisser!!

Never heard of a private film of either Wembley '82 gig.

Rorty and Mellilo...this story about Charlie hitting Mick never sounded true to me, it doesn't seem like something Charlie would do. but then I wouldn't have thought he would get a heroin habit either...man I don't know..I just doubt he would go off on Mick like that.

Bill Wyman relates the story of Mick getting punched by Charlie around '82 - Bill says Mick was drnking heavily (his vocals imo were generally poor and he looked riduculous during during those '81-82 tours)at that time, Ron of course had a coke problem, and there was friction developing (and other problems) that would lead to the long tour layoff. The incident I referred to was during the Licks tour - I saw 2 shows in Boston (& 1 in NYC), & at one the band was great & at another 2 nights later (or was it before?) Ron literally stopped playing for about 5 songs - pointing, mugging, pretending to play for a few seconds if Mick was near (Keith paid no attention), til finally M sort of pranced by & hit him. I think it was supposed to not be obvious to the audience but the people I went with all had noticed it when we talked after the show.

Much of this htting and yelling is misunderstood from our point of view....

If you see the guys onstage, they get upset in a minute and then they are relaxed / laughing afterwards.....

It is matter of being tense when playing music onstage and then when it is over, they calm down....

This is obvious fx. on four flicks DVD, 1981 show and so on.....

Name me a person / actor / muscian, who doesn't react somehow when things go wrong in a tense / stressed situation....

Well, Who can forget the shit in japan last year, with keith getting pissed at chuck and shoving him off his platform, after the intro to Monkey man. Keith made some comment and this si not a dirrect quote but like "this isant your @#$%& band". Now, the Story that Peirre(As in keiths peirre) told me is that wild horses before that, Keith made mick just sound awsome, and keith was grovving and relaxing, and he got pissed cause chuck was trying to speed things up and keith wasent ready. Any thoughts??

Mick Sould do that as much until he leaves for good. I wonder how much Keith hit Ronnie on stage. I guess it might be on every tour once or twice

Anyone remember the first Amsterdam Arena show of the last tour?
It was an awful show. Keith ^*%&%^ up the opening of brown sugar and things were tense from there on. Ronnie, i think, started his solo on wild horses to late or maybe hardly played anything and Keith came up to him during the song. you could clearly see he was pissed at Ronnie. After the song they talked about it in front of Charlie's drum kit. Mick had to grap Ronnie by the arm and drag him away.
It was quite embarissing to watch but i think the not many people around me noticed it or thought it was funny.

Cheers,
Wuudy
