Unlike last night's tweet from @RollingStones, nothing yet about this afternoon's ticket release.

Chuck forgot to take today's post-it-note out of his binder and tweet the message.

The closer we get to show time the more $85 tix will pop up. Thats just the strategy, first sell as many overpriced tickets as possible then fill up the venue with $85 tickets.

And in the end both sides were right, those who said that the overpriced tickets will not sell well and those who said the shows will be sold out tongue sticking out smiley

On a positive note.

I would think it would be safe to say that the true hardcore Stones fans living

in Southern Califorina will be able to see the Stones several times at $85 if

they want to!

I know if I lived there I would be at every show that I could get a ticket for at

that price.

After reading all the comments/posts on $85 ticket situation I'm going to wait until the last minute for Honda 2.

It's the pricing strategy that airlines use, and that works exceptionally well.

After all, I've never heard of an airline going bankrupt, have you?

At least not during the last two weeks winking smiley

But I don't get your point. Even when they can't sell enough of the high priced tickets, each $85 ticket sold at the last minute will reduce the loss. STill better than not to sell the tickets.

Ok, time I stop doing the research to find 85's for my relatives who now want to go. Let them do their own research. I have my 85's. Now to relax for the next hour or two before I head down to Staples.

They have released a whole bunch of upper deck tickets for Staples at $250, as in the entire upper deck at the back, which they had showed as sold out until just today. They limited sales of the cheaper tickets so they sold out the first day the tickets went on sale, making only the higher priced $600 and $450 tickets available. So, people who wanted to buy tickets after first day-of-sale may have bought the $600 seats thinking those expensive seats were all they could get, even if they would have preferred the $250 seats.

They obviously limited the sale of $85 seats so that people trying for those on the last day and failed can now be steered to buy the $250 seats that were held back until today, since $250 now looks like a bargain compared to spending $600 or $450. The Stones and their promoters are shameless. Although it's not surprising, since sports teams that have "market demand" pricing do the same manipulative scheme (holding back large blocks of less-expensive seats to be sold on first day-of-sale to steer people to more expensive seats, then releasing the pent-up supply of crappier "cheap seats" close to or on the day of the event).

Just received email from Staples: $85 tickets at windows 16 and 17 only; no lineups until 6:30, doors at 7. Ticket locations assigned randomly, and as you know already, you must go in when you get your tickets.

@Lefsetz btw that line wraps around 3 times. Must be 2-3k tickets that got released at the $85 price point

We scored 85 seats right when they went on sale and got in line at 6:45. We did not get in arena until 8 pm and are in upper level. Bit of a bummer but we are in the show!!!
