We got upgraded in Chicago 5/31 about 20-30 minutes before they took the stage.
bv, on the off chance that I score a pair of pit tickets, would you think being in the back would be an ok experience for a 12 y/o kid? I would love to be there myself, but thinking it might be better to trade with someone in the front row of a side section. Thoughts?

I believe it was around 8:20-8:30ish when they came around with the upgrades at Boston 1.
Mike, (refer to a Boston Garden Seating Chart) wednesday night in Boston, 4 of us had 85s; 2 of us got sec 13, and 2 of us got sec 111.
Tonight we had upper levels. So my friend devised a plan. Lets sit up in sec 309 in the last row and see what happens.
At 7:55p a guy with a lamenated pass comes around with a wad of tickets. Says to us, "here you go" and he gave us sec 21, row 7. About 25 feet away from the stage. Unbelievable!!!! Most of sec 21, row 7 had wrist bands . . .
There were a few scattered empty seats in sec 21, I presume they were $600 seats.
I have a different Story from the concerts in Oakland, Jose, Vegas and Anaheim. Most People we met did have they Pit tickets via Stubhub or other third parties. The tickets showed 81US$, but most of them paid much more than a grant. Some even more than the VIP Thing. Of course we did meet the lucky 85$ ones as well and I was happy for all of them.
I think that the tickets for the Pit which are not being sold via agencies move back to the lottery within the 85$ Thing. Depending on the place and time and Money the People spend you have more or less luck to score such Pit Beauty tickets.
I have tried for all concerts and did not score one and I tried hard. But once again I am more than happy for the ones who made it

Just tried $85s for tomorrow, none came up, unless you changes "best available" next to the quantity to $85. Then it went threw fine. Just hooked up some friends. Thanks for the info!

Tbdster - I had the same problem but kept trying and I got a pair for tomorrow nights show in Boston after 25-30 attempts. Keep trying!

Still nuthing, and I need to get work done now. For the first time since I started going to see them in 97, I'm actually going to miss a tour! Very very very sad and depressed now!

BIG QUESTION...
For those of you that had your seat upgraded from the last row, about what time was this happening? If I get a bad $85 ticket I want to be on the move but don't want to miss out on a second chance score.
I've read just about every page of this thread but it doesn't seem to mention the times that the seat upgrades are happening.

Some places like LA people are stacked with cash so there were many VIP's.
But most places there are 50 or so VIP's only.

Well most fans stay up front pretty tight, but there are rules,
when there are 400 people in the pit it is full, security wise.
The space at the back is there for people to breathe and move around.

In Montreal, a grand total of 26 people were in the VIP package. The first few $85 lottery winners were front row on the rail and there were tons in the first three rows.

Got to the box office about 7:30, the line looked long but moved fairly quickly. Got to the front, and a few people kind-of rudely pushed their way in front of me, but I said nothing, I was there to have a good time, not argue. The 2 pushy people in front of me got balcony, I got Loge 1, 7th row. Excellent seats!

Ended up with section 107 premium seats lower level stage left....great seats! Had loge 4 4th row Wednesday so have to say I got what I wanted and more for $85..

One pair I got club seats 143 awesome. My second pair I treated my friend and his wife for his recent retirement from the fire dept, He got loge 3 row 6.
My sister had two pairs also, one pair was pit and the other Last row section 309. The decision was easy she and her best friend went into the PIT and she sent her Twins to the nosebleeds.

Me, Chcago 2. I'm sure there are many who didn't.

Good news is I scored 85 pairs for the first show in LA and the last 2 shows in Chicago. Bad news was each show was upper deck, though wife upgraded me to the pit for my 50th birthday in Chicago which was quite a treat!
