Prince did something similar to this on his Musicology tour - when you bought your tickets you didn't know where you would be sitting until the night of the show. My pair happened to be on the 5th row so I was pleasantly surprised. Not sure how it will work with the Stones though. They did offer a few prime discounted seats on the Bigger Bang tour - I got two front row seats in Memphis for $100 each.

Interesting, a lottery, eh...so how are these going to be sold, as an extra category on TM under "Mystery Ticket for $85" ? Has to be 1000 per night...if they're not only doing it for marketing purposes.

If we manage to get any of these we will be happy just to be there. Would hate to drive a good distance only to find out my seats are complete junk..

At least they finally threw us a bone. It would be kinda fun to take a roll of the dice on this. We'll see ....

Let's think about this for a moment...the $85 tickets come in pairs; does this mean the third seat is full price?

Picking tickets up night of show suggests an anti-scalping measure - possibly even "paperless" tickets. Further to that, could be that once you pick up tickets at will call with valid ID and credit card, you must enter the venue.

I'd say you couldn't even put an order in for 3 tickets at $85.

You'd buy the first pair for $85, and if you were unimaginably lucky, you'd buy a second pair at $85. That of course would never happen.

I have managed to hit the jackpot twice in over 40 shows. 9th row for twickenham for 95 GBP and somehow managed to pull a seat for the Beacon show for 28.75. The odds are really infinitesimal, but when it happens, it's a good feeling!

This is a nice gesture, truly in the fun spirit I have personally witnessed years ago from the greatest rock 'n' roll band, It's easy to point to the negative aspects of running this giant operation but nobody does it better. Few entertainers have come close to giving so many great moments to their fans. The 50th Anniversary has humbled our boys. The social media and stuff started out as pure promotion but instead turned into a bonding experience where the band has open ears and hearts for their audience. A Triumphant return to Hyde Park, Mick Taylor in tow, that's love and respect for us and our combined history. I know it sounds sappy but this year we are all Rolling Stones. I can only imagine the thrill for British and traveling fans attending Hyde Park. RIP Brian, Nicky, Billy and Stu your legacies are safe with us.

In London Gregory - a Monkey dressed guy - walked around at the O2 before the show - and gave away upgrades to the tongue pit. You got the password on your mobile via twitter, and when you met Gregory you simply told him this very basic word - like "Hi Gregory"... and you got wristbands for the pit. Very simple. I know several friends who got their access to the pit this way. For the US I suppose there are some of the cheapeer seats who are either very high up or tongue pit. It is not that difficult really. They need to have a way to fool the scalpers, they don't usually buy up the cheapest tickets. I have said many times that the Stones do care for their fans.
