Why didn't they play London in 1970?

Was it because they already did the shows in Dec.69 or did they already have the "Farewell Tour" on their minds? Or was it because of the massive taxes they had to pay??

All of the above. The Farewell Tour wasn't in its planning stages in 1969. It was only after Prince Rupert Lowenstein & Co. advised them to leave England for tax purposes. Also, The Farewell Tour was a way to make some quick cash, no?

because they'd played Britain in 1969 - well, London. Back then, it would have been normal for a British band to treat a British and a European (ie Continental Europe) as two different tours. As theyd played in the Uk and the US in 1969, the obvious next step would have been to tour their next biggest market - Europe

They would have intended to do a full scale tour of Britain in '71 anyway, regardless of the 'farewell' aspect to it, I'd imagine.
