My top 3 will all be Stones concerts and then I'll mention a few other great shows: The first would be the Stones, August 8, 1975, Buffalo, New York, The Second , The Stones April 20, 1998, Montreal, The Third, The Stones, Hartford, Conn Nov. 10 1981. OK, I lied, I have a fourth Stones show to add. The Stones, June 1972, Boston, Ma. Other best shows: Paul McCartney, April 2002, Boston, Ma, The Who, August 1972, Tanglewood, Lenox, Ma, The Who, Saratoga, New York, August 1975, Ray Davies,Stockbridge, Ma Berkshire Theatre Festival, Sept 1996. I keep remembering other Stones concerts that just seem better than everything else I've seen over the past 35 years like The Stones in Philly at Veterans Stadium, Sept 19, 2002 and their First Union Center show, also Philly the next night, Sept 20. I mean, these shows were AWESOME! I will toss in Aerosmith, who I've seen ten times and Bonnie Raitt at Tanglewood with Jackson Browne, July of 1997. Bands that surprised me they were so great are Cheap Trick, 2001, Albany New York, The Doobies, Sept 2003 in Pittsfield, Ma and Jethro Tull, August of 1972, Lenox, Ma and again in August 2002, Tanglewood, Lenox, Ma! Tull ROCKS! No one moves me like the Stones though!

I'm gonna exclude the 30-something Stones and 40-something Dylan shows, because those experiences stand apart from all others. Top 3 that come to mind

1) Animals reunion tour - Eugene - Hult Center 9/2/83 (my birthday, too)
2) Lou Reed - 1996 SF Warfield - I wasn't prepared for this!
3) The Dead - Shoreline Amphitheatre 2003 - got an "on stage/backstage" pass - loads of fun

honorable mentions to various Allman Brothers, Phish, Van Morrison and Mick Taylor, Ron Wood and Keith Richards shows along the way...

Kraftwerk, Berlin March 2004, the Mitternacht (midnight) show. Just seeing a Berlin Kraftwerk crowd at midnight was an "experience". Sehr gut.

Zep in Seattle 77 tour... I am a HUGE Stones fan but nothing touches is show not even close. One of the greatest nights for rock concerts. Maybe the L.A. forum on the same tour but I didnt see that one.

Any one of the WALL shows at the Nassau Colliseum.. I saw all 7. 4th night by far the best of the 7. HEY TEACHER LEAVE US KIDS ALONE!!! The best guitar solo I ever saw... the 4th show there.. David Gilmore atop the wall during Comfortably Numb.. extended and mesmerising!!!

My first Stones show Philly 81 opening day. Not a great performance by the boys but the best VIBE stones show I was ever at...and after 37 shows... Under My Thumb stills gives me goosebumbs.

Worst show: Richie Blackmores RAINBOW with The Scorpions...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
