Hello,

In light of Lee's weather predo above, I feel it only right and proper to warn you all that there is a clear and present danger that I will be wearing shorts on Saturday.

There, I've said it.

The last time that I saw this lot...Thursday 23rd August, 2007. Pretty good, as it goes!

Right, see you all in the Minky Puzzle and The Giles Asylum.

Cheers,

Simon.

At this point I don't think anyone knows how it's going to play out...

So yes I think something should be lined up for the after show where we won't have to worry about that anymore. It's been said here that the St Giles remained opened pretty much all night in 2007 and until 3/4 in November so it looks like a good spot. Thing is it seems its bar (or one of its bars) is closed for refurbishment. Maybe someone local could call them up to find out?

I just called St. Giles. I only know of the bar that's being refurbished, but it seems they have another bar that's open "for guests", though only till midnight. Tried to ascertain where this bar is located in the hotel, but the reply was less than clear. Will try ringing later tonight when someone different should be on reception.

But maybe someone who's going to be a guest there can ring up and tell them they'll get lots of custom if they keep the bar open later. Come on, flairville and straycatuk - work your charms on them!
We have 6 rooms booked therefore called and pushed the button. They will keep the restaurant bar open til 3.00am. last food order 2.30 am.

Cheers, Dave - but just to clarify..will that be for residents only or can the rest of us riff raff show up and get in?
Dear Sir you are most welcome to be on our bar bill. promise you will only pay for the booze you consume not the gallons of whisky guzzled by the Old Farts - sorry that should be Brave Hearts.

As long as youre not drinking smuggled whisky out of condoms again, that might be a plan.

So Monkeypuzzle before the show and St Giles after the show, is that correct ?
Is there a meeting place for friday night ? Pride of Paddington?

yes.

No idea about Friday. Not sure if anything formal has been arranged.

I was going to make a suggestion for Friday, as the weather seems set to be alright for the week.......myself, BarRoomQueen and a few others will be going to Hyde Park for a picnic and a couple of drinks. Would be good to catch up with fellow fans from IORR what with it being 44 years to the day since the Stones played Hyde Park. There will of course be Bon Jovi playing in the background!

Every silver lining has to have a dark cloud, doesnt it?

Longchamps 30th June and 1st July 1995 if I am not mistaken. Very hot first gig warm whisky flavoured by spermicide in condoms, Viagra forerunner. HARD to beat.

We will position ourselves at the northern side of the park in front of the main entrance where there is quite a large grassy area.......look out for tongue t-shirts!

sounds good !! what time ? we'll try to join you

We will be there around 7.45/8.00pm with our blanket on the ground.

Right, I'll head along there early afternoon. First port of call though is Walkabout in Shepherd's Bush to (hopefully!) watch the Lions spank the Aussies!!

I'm on an Aussie guy's Stag do pre Stones which starting here for the match. Look out for a tall ginger Aussie getting nailed, Ill be the Fat Keith Lemon lookalike feeding him booze!

Steve

I hope something's been lost in the translation Steve, because that comment is conjuring up some utterly horrific images.

This is awkward!

Have a great time everyone.
Hope you're keeping well Welsh Stone. Remember trying to get tickets for the Astoria gig all those years ago. The missus has let you loose again, or is she now a fan and going with you.?
I'll be over in Spain, seeing how the gig is going on IORR . smileys with beer

Hello,

Possibly pushing the boat out a bit/being a tad presumptuous etc., but is anyone planning on a Sunday lunchtime recovery /show post-mortem?

I only ask in the name of travel planning, not basking and lounging around some riverside beer garden. Perish the thought, right?

Cheers,

Simon.

Love The Jack Horner, and the St. Giles, brings back memories from August, 2007.

Have one for me, if you think about it, Vilhelm, okay, and toast, to the best band ever,
and to a great show!

Nice thought Rockee, that is the most important...besides having the time of your life, of course.

Jot down all those memories to share with us and don't forget to drink plenty of water, not just beer.

Best to all those strolling to the park!
