Ohhhh! So THAT'S why they call it "The Great Oak Stage"! And here I thought the stage was made of oak! Love the "then and now" pic of the Stones. Ronnie and Charlie sure have changed!

Stage looks great, thanks for the link.

BST FAQs
Small unauthorized professional photography or filming is not allowed.

I don't get that sentence. Is a small digicam (Canon IXUS 90) allowed?

Yes that is allowed smiling smiley

What is not allowed is any camera with a removable lens or a lens over x amount of inches

Rolling Stones Brian Jones' lover Anna Wohlin claims he was killed in scuffle with minder

Two days before the 1969 gig she’d dragged his lifeless body from the swimming pool of Sussex farmhouse and tried in vain to revive him

According to Bon Jovi forums, the payment bands didn't work (for purchases) , whole blocks of toilets had to be closed and the beer and cider ran out after 30 minutes.........way to go Barclaycard / BST / AEG thumbs down

If you don't mind me asking, wtf are you doing in Spain when you SHOULD be in Hyde Park. Have you gone mad ? Too much sun ? Insufficient water with the whisky ? WHAT exactly ?

That's nuts, I have always turned up quite late to Hyde Park gigs and managed to get in the front GA section.
In fact same applies to indoor standing gigs too. There are always those who lack initiative and when they see a dense throng of people towards the back assume there are no spaces nearer the front. Then, when you endure the weaving to get through the initial mass of punters they are always excellent standing spots towards the front. The recent ZZ Top gig at Hammy Odeon, oppsss Apollo was a case in point.

Cheers,
SonicD

I'd rather see a bunch of hot topless women there rather than the mayor. But whatever floats your boat, colonial.

I know, last June and July in U.K. was a washout, and with the thoughts of that and the AEG ticket fiasco,I ended up in Spain.

My last Stones gigs were Budapest and Brno in July 2007,so getting severe withdrawal symptoms.

Roll on the European tour at a later date ,and I will be there.
Looking forward to a few San Miguel lagers tonight. >grinning smiley<

Meeting place for fans in London
Posted by: bv ()
Date: July 1, 2013 00:15

This thread will soon be merged into the Hyde Park info thread. I just wanted everyone to be aware of the fact that we have found a great pub where we can meet up at. Thanks to Gazza for the research. This one is close to the Paddington and Sussex Gardens, where there are literally hundreds of hotels, some good, some bad, I know many stay in this area, also it is just north-west of Marble Arch and Hyde Park. More details to follow when this is being merged into the London thread soon...

Excellent, I'll be there around 2PM probably !

Any ideas for the after show? It seems the St Giles bar stays open pretty much all night long but it might currently be closed (the bar not the hotel) for refurbishing?

Hey BV,

I hope you enjoyed Glastonbury...went there about 15 times over the years, it's got a great atmosphere.

Now...if you really think fish&chips represents London cuisine, you're at least 20 years out of date!
