The Truth about Bill
Date: February 9, 2005 23:47

Im sorry guys but i gotta say it, cause its the truth. Bill is a pussy . you can talk forever about how he was afaird to fly and his f'd up personal life. But the fact is this. He was afaird about continuing cause people would think its a joke. and now the fact is that he;s bitter, old, and probley nailing some 14 year old bird. Dont get me wrong, I have a world of respect for him, Miss you, BS and others have incredabul bass lines. Another thing, he tried getting out, after TOA and before 81. and keith wouldnt have it. I know this sounds nasty and im gonna get lotta s**t for it. but its the truth.

BUt the honest truth is anyone who has left the stones, simply just coldnt handel the life of a stone. IE Brian jones: drugs just got to him MT: he was to jelous and Bitter. and Bill was just a pussy. (2 exceptions being that Keith hated both Matt clifford and Ian Mac)

MT left because he couldn't handle the life-style. It was prob. best for him. Wise desicion IMO.

BW left because he didn't wanted to do it anymore. That's not being a pussy I think.

'Nuff said.

What is the reason for a lot of back players to be sacked or hired?
I mean they had a lot. Nicky Hopkins, Ernie Watts, Mac, Matt Clifford, The horn section on the '89/'90, Andy Snitzer.
Why did they "leave"?

Cheers,
Wuudy

Andy Snitzer wasn't available in 1999 because he was working with Paul Simon.

what a ridiculous post - like you know Bill or something. Bill should be afforded the respect that spending 30 years with a bunch of egomaniacal pseudo-adolescents deserves. he had the guts and maturity to leave on his own timetable and terms. so, that makes him a pussy? get real.

I think he meant to say Bill loves pussy.

Wyman retired with grace.
His personal life is his business
outside of that. Let him be, he's
paid his dues, done good service
to the Stones.

Regarding the changing of side players the band has had a history of changing them around every few years up until late, well actually since 1989.

Maybe they should shuffle the deck a little to add some fresh blood.

Regarding the topic...I dont think Bill ever imagined that the band would
still be playing by 2003. If there is any bitterness I think it may stem from
money. If you read "STONE ALONE" it seems that Bill remembers every penny
ever earned and it also seems like he would chase a penny into hell just
to get it back.

Who the hell knows.

well just wondering...about Keith "hated Mac"? whats that about? they worked together, in the Barbarians, and Stones tour...
is this common knowledge or something?
How could you not like Mac? what about it Whip?

My understanding was that Mac was perceived as a bad influence on Ronnie!!! How in the hell could anyone be a worse influence than Keith??? This is on par with Gregg Allman firing Dickie Betts because of chemical problems.

Right on Elmo - & no evidence in "All The Rage" that K hates Mac, or vice versa - & Mack don't mince words.

Well, the difference is the Mac could be removed from the band; obviously, Keith cannot.

Just saw Mac last nite in SF - great show - fun little meet/great/photo ops with him afterward. Had him sign the setlist as well as the cover art to the 4/22/79 Barbs/Stones show boot.

Was going to ask him about his deal with the Stones (he's replied via email before to me on this)- but decided not to spoil the mood.
