Most of the bashers won't even bother to watch the movie, just as they didn't read the book. Why invest all that time when you can just read the reviews or watch the trailer?
As for me, I look forward to whatever Depp comes up with, but I do hope it's not just a snapshot approach like "Being Mick."

How good is Johnny on a guitar...realistically?

Jim Keltner seems to have discovered how to stop time. He's looked the same for the last 30 years or so. Maybe being able to "keep time" on the drums has something to do with it.

Rather than read all sorts of intent or intrigue into this, couldn't these pictures just be left at Richards was in a studio with some rather well known friends of his and leave it at that?

I admire the guy for admitting he cried while recording "Heaven's Door"! That's a mensch!

Jim Keltner is also the drummer who added such a great backbeat to "Now We're Getting Somewhere"...I don't think he cried during that one but still...

Bullshit. Johnny Depp is a good guitar player. He came from Florida to L.A. mostly to play guitar, in the Rock City Angels. Not my sort of band or music, somewhere in between Black Crowes and Guns 'n Roses. His acting career took off and he had to quit the group as they signed to Geffen (I think it was). Anyway, he's no Keith or Ronnie or Taylor but he was a legit rock musician.
